What You'll Do As a Diesel Technician II, you'll work on a variety of maintenance and repair tasks to keep our fleet in top condition, including: Perform advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on tractors and trailers, including: DOT Compliance, Suspension, and Driveline Brakes, Steering & Fifth Wheel HVAC & Cooling Systems Electrical & Diagnostics Aftertreatment & Exhaust Liftgate, Reefer, & Roll-Up Doors Perform mobile service calls and emergency roadside repairs as needed. Order and manage parts inventory, ensuring efficient workflow. Train and mentor junior technicians while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized workspace. Make warranty recommendations based on diagnostics and repair assessments. What You Bring to the Team We're looking for a team member who has: Required: Minimum of 1 year of experience in diesel/tractor maintenance. Preferred: 2+ years of experience in diesel/tractor maintenance. AAS Degree in Heavy Duty Truck Technology or related field Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Certified in ABS brake systems and eligible for Minnesota DOT inspection certification. Strong computer skills for documenting repairs and service records. What You'll Do As a Mechanic II, you'll: Analyze, diagnose, and troubleshoot equipment. Recommend and perform cost-effective repairs. Identify and gather appropriate repair parts. Connect hydraulic lines, fill with oil, and prepare equipment for testing. Prepare trucks for sub-frame assembly by disassembling, measuring, repositioning, installing, and reassembling components. Test assembled products to ensure proper functionality and quality. Follow workplace safety policies and safe work practices. Maintain tools and work area in good condition. Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned. What We're Looking For High School diploma or equivalent, required. Additional training beyond high school (certificate or Associate's degree in auto repair), preferred. At least 3 years of mechanical experience, required. Previous experience with heavy mechanical equipment, preferred. Familiarity with hydraulic, electrical, gas, and diesel systems. Ability to read blueprints, hydraulic schematics, and electrical diagrams. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Comfortable using computers to access work instructions and track labor. Physical Demands Ability to perform repetitive work while moving around, under, and over equipment on the production floor (about 95% of the time).
