The Assignment Ready Counselor (ARC) will provide coverage in short-term, surge and on demand situations resulting from the Military needs such as a post-deployment event or to cover an existing assignment for counselors who are absent. The Summer ARC counselor position covers assignments during the May 15th through September 15th time period, coinciding with the school summer break. With minimal guidance and oversight, provides the full breadth of Adult or Child and Youth Behavioral (CYB) counseling services to military service members and their families at military installations. These services may include non- medical counseling, training/health and wellness presentations, consultation with parents, personnel at child daycare centers and schools, and consultation to installation command regarding behavioral health issues affecting military personnel and their family members. ARC CYB counselors may be assigned to DoDEA schools and community schools and will need to have experience working in a school setting to qualify for ARC role in backing up a school position. CYB counselors may also be assigned to youth programs, summer camps, and on demand assignments. ARC adult counselors may be assigned to support MFLC services in a variety of military community and readiness centers, as well as on-demand and surge assignments. The counselors work closely with the installation and military branch Points of Contact (POC) to assure that the program is provided within scope and meets the needs of the installation.
Provides non-medical, short term, solution focused, counseling directly to adults, children, and youth of service members. Services include assessment, brief counseling and consultation, action planning, referral to resources (assuring linkage as appropriate), and follow-up as indicated.
CYB counselors will also have a focus on supporting the staff and personnel of CDCs, DoDEA and community schools, youth programs and summer camps as well as providing parent training and guidance.
Provides training and health and wellness presentations, participate in health fairs and other base/installation activities.

Summary:
The Activities Guide is a member of a team who facilitates guest activities in a safe, fun and educational manner. An Activities Guide will run Activities Yurt when experiences are not booked, assist guests with equipment fitting, trail recommendations and professionally representing the Ranch's offerings.

SUMMARY:
Wranglers are responsible for riding and instructing guests and members in an elite equestrian program as well as assisting in the care, maintenance, and training of a herd of over 200 horses under the supervision of the barn management team. Successful wranglers are outgoing and industrious, patient teachers, and confident leaders who enjoy sharing their knowledge with guests and co-workers. Individuals must be receptive to guidance and adhere to established horsemanship policies and methods. Attention to detail, hospitality, and the ability to work well with others are essential. Wranglers should be personable and professional and will be required to ride for the brand. Riders of all backgrounds and disciplines are encouraged to apply.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Guest service position: People skills are a must!
Move the herd from pasture to barn and back.
Groom horses.
Saddle and bridle horses.
Conduct supervised and instructional trail rides for all levels riders. Comfortable multitasking: riding a green horse, talking with and instructing guests on horsemanship and proper position.
Assist the Barn Management Team in teaching riding lessons, horsemanship clinics, and trail obstacle clinics for all levels of riders.
Maintain the tack room, tack and equipment in a clean and orderly manner. Repair riding equipment and gear such as saddles, stirrups, and bridles.
Perform general maintenance around barns and corrals.
Assist in the care of the herd (hay, feeding and supplements, mucking pens, etc.)
Condition horses for trail riding by guests of all experience levels, at all paces and over all types of terrain.
Develop a strong bond and understanding with the horse to facilitate better performance, endurance, and foundational horsemanship. Must understand feel, timing, and balance.
Ride green and difficult horses. Must be comfortable at the Walk, Trot, Lope (Canter) on all types of horses over all type of terrain.
Monitor horse behavior and report any unusual activity or health concerns.
Follow safety protocols to ensure the welfare of the horse and rider.
Work closely with barn management team to develop young and green horses.
Requirements
Please submit current riding videos demonstrating your ability to Walk, Trot, Lope (Canter) in both directions. We would also love to see videos of you performing groundwork, competing in any discipline, guiding trail rides, or anything else you would like us to consider.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Must have current First Aid and CPR Certification.
Must have a minimum of 8 years of hands-on horsemanship experience in any discipline. Experience showing in western or English disciplines preferred.
Must have knowledge of advanced riding cues, such as: bilateral movements, turn on the haunches, turn on the forehand, leg yielding, etc. Ability to help horse become soft, supple and round, and respond to seat and leg.
Preferred experience riding and working with green or problematic horses.
Experience teaching lessons.
Knowledge of natural horsemanship and groundwork.
Ability to ride any type of horse with quality.
Equine Science, Equine Business, or real-world experience preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
