RESPONSIBILITIES: * Retrieve CNC programs and load to the machine * Setup, load, and operate CNC machines to produce parts per prints * Edit in G-code and manually program using Mazatrol Control * Setup fixturing and come up with your own set ups on machine * Perform first piece and in-process quality inspections * Setup cutters in holders and adjust height and length * Read drawings/prints to identify operations, specification, and tolerances * Meet precise tolerances and finishing requirements * Use various hand tools to finish parts and check * Use measuring devices like micrometers and calipers to ensure specifications are met * Perform operator maintenance tasks like oiling, greasing, and cleaning the machine (5S) * Use forklift or crane to store and retrieve fixturing and other essential equipment * Operate other machines in the department as needed QUALIFICATIONS: * High school diploma required. Advanced education or apprenticeship preferred. * 5 years of CNC mill set-up and programming experience required. * Mazak experience preferred. * Strong skills in editing G-code and manual programming in Mazatrol preferred. * Strong math skills and the ability to work from detailed and involved part drawings and specifications to perform operations to the capacity of the machine and controls are also essential. * Willingness to move between work centers. We are looking for a Machinist who programs, sets up, adjusts and operates a wide variety of machine tools, both manual and CNC, to perform progressive machining operations on a diversified line of close tolerance work requiring a high degree of skill and machining techniques. This individual is an expert at reading/ troubleshooting programming code to prevent errors in the manufacture of critical parts. May set up for and instruct less experienced Machinists, train Apprentices as well as troubleshoot and make adjustments. This is a second shift position. Your Responsibilities: Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements. Using a variety of precision measuring equipment, measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or workpiece as guides for subsequent machining. Create offline and edit CNC programs; dry run, debug and edit CNC programs at machine. Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers. May set up machines for operation by others. Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or control media as required. Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to specifications. Grinds and adapts tooling and attachments for special work requirements. Works with large and expensive parts or smaller parts of a complicated nature having critical and exacting requirements as to tolerance and finish. Diagnoses and rectifies tooling problems and machine malfunctions. Your Profile: High school diploma or GED. At least 5 years of set-up and machining experience or blend of schooling/experience. Experience with VTLs, Vertical Machining Centers and Horizontal boring bars. Experience keying in on large part machining Ability to use CNC controls and associated computers for program transfer. Ability to research drawings in drawing database program.
