Our current opening for the Medical Doctor/Doctor of Osteopathy Is located in Las Cruces, NM. Las Cruces is a tranquil college community located at the foot of the Organ Mountains and along the banks of the Rio Grande, just 45 miles from El Paso. Job Requirements:
Provides direct primary care medical services to La Clinica De Familia patients.
Provides outpatient primary care medical services within scope of practice as determined by delineation of privileges.
Assigned to one primary site for delivery of care, with cross coverage at other sites when necessary.
Participates in active problem identification and problem solving to improve the overall clinical program and patient care at the physician's primary site.
This includes active participation in quality assurance activities as assigned by the Chief Medical Officer.
Serves as team leader for staff at primary site for purposes of problem solving and self-management.
Graduate from an accredited School of Medicine or Osteopathy.
Completion of an accredited residency-training program in a primary care specialty.
Licensed by the New Mexico Board of Medical Examiners to practice medicine or eligible for licensure.
Board Certification in a primary care specialty.
DEA certification. New Mexico Board of Pharmacy certification.

The incoming physician will have access to a fully equipped cardiac cath lab, modern hospital resources, and a supportive clinical team.
Position Highlights:
Full-time position
Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM; Friday, 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Cath lab access: Procedures begin at 6:30 AM, clinic starts at 10:00 AM
Clinic volume: 20-25 patients/day preferred
Annual cath/angio volume: 500 cases
Procedures performed: Coronary angioplasty and stent placement, right and left heart catheterization, diagnostic coronary angiography, pacemaker and AICD insertions, generator changes, lead revisions, loop recorder insertions/removals, stress test and echocardiogram readings
Call coverage: Shared call expected
EMR systems: GEMMS One (clinic), Cerner & Change Healthcare (hospital); transitioning to Epic in March 2026

Minimum Job Requirements of a Staff Physician Anesthesiology:
Medical doctor with 3 to 5 years of directly related experience which may include residency in a directly related medical specialty. State of New Mexico and Federal DEA Certification; Medical Specialty License or Certification; Board Certified or Board Eligible in specified area of medical specialty. Must be Board Certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology or within three years of residency and active in the certification process. Verification of education and licensure (if applicable) will be required if selected for hire.

Duties and Responsibilities of a Staff Physician Anesthesiology:
Provides and manages direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses and treatment for a specified patient population.
Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions.
Refers patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate.
Trains and supervises medical students and residents engaged in specialty activities and procedures, as appropriate.
May manage the daily operations of a specific medical program, patient care unit, or research function.
Directs and coordinates the patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required.
Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
As appropriate to the position, participates in specified health promotion, education and/or prevention programs.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine comprises of 50 faculty anesthesiologists, 31 residents, 6 fellows, and 41 CRNA/CAAs covering 28 operating rooms, and 7 NORA locations, and perform 24,000+ anesthesia cases a year.
Minimum Job Requirements of a Staff Physician Anesthesiology:
Medical doctor with 3 to 5 years of directly related experience which may include residency in a directly related medical specialty. State of New Mexico and Federal DEA Certification; Medical Specialty License or Certification; Board Certified or Board Eligible in specified area of medical specialty. Under indirect supervision, provides and manages direct health care for a specified patient population.
A successful candidate will provide primary diagnostic and consultative services in radiology for examinations performed at multiple locations. These positions are responsible for timely and accurate interpretation of radiological images. Because we are a teaching hospital there will also be supervision and teaching of residents/fellows and medical students, consultation services and other clinical activities as appropriate to the individuals qualifications and credentials.
