Skilled Laborer Reports To: Foreman Summary: Assembles rigging to lift and move equipment or material in manufacturing plant, shipyard, or on construction project by performing the following duties. Essential Qualifications, Duties, and Responsibilities: (Other duties may be assigned) Works with craft personnel and assist in removing scale, sand, paint, grease, tar, rust and dirt from equipment. Utilize shovels and other hand equipment to move products from one place to another as directed. Utilize mops and brooms to clean areas of work free of clutter and environmentally friendly. Inspect tools for safe usage prior to delivering and/or removing tools from work locations. Ensures that a proper inventory of equipment is readily available in trucks, trailers or other tool storage areas. Control movement of heavy equipment through narrow openings or confined spaces, by the use of tag lines. Signal or verbally direct workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads in order to ensure safety of workers, equipment and materials.
