Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and driven Site Civil Engineer with a strong background in land development and stormwater management. This mid-level role requires at least 7 years of experience and offers the opportunity to contribute to high-profile projects across the New York metro area. A Professional Engineer (PE) license in NY is preferred. Ideal candidates will bring technical expertise, regulatory knowledge, and a passion for mentorship and collaboration.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Plan, design, and execute land development projects including site layout, grading, utility design, and permitting across a variety of sectors including commercial, residential, industrial, warehousing, retail and public infrastructure.
Design stormwater management systems that align with environmental and regulatory requirements.
Lead preparation of due diligence/feasibility studies, construction documents, engineering reports, and regulatory submissions.
Resolve engineering challenges and ensure technical accuracy throughout the project lifecycle.
Follow projects through construction phase including field observation, shop drawing reviews, resolve field issues.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and municipal/public reviewers throughout all project phases.
Monitor project progress and proactively resolve issues or challenges that arise during the lifecycle, ensuring successful delivery.
Support project schedules, budgets, and deliverables while maintaining high-quality standards.
Mentor junior engineers and assist in the development of technical skills across project teams.
Attend client meetings and conduct site visits as needed.
Stay current on NY regulatory guidelines and contribute to permitting strategy.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field.
Minimum 7 years of experience in site civil engineering, with a focus on land development and stormwater design.
Professional Engineer (PE) license in New York preferred.
Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, and other relevant design tools.
Strong understanding of local, state, and federal permitting regulations.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and team collaboration skills.

Position Summary:

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Working independently, while ensuring the timely and cost-effective execution of assigned cases;
Serving as the primary point of contact with clients including development and coordination of case budgets, work orders, site visits, cost estimates, and associated deliverables. Maintaining contact with clients on active cases to provide status updates, including case spend and budget status, and address questions, needs, or concerns at least every other week, or as otherwise agreed upon;
Assisting with the development and ongoing updates to the scopes of work associated with assigned cases, as necessary;
Making independent decisions for assigned cases, including the selection of applicable analysis and testing methodologies and identification and selection of resources relevant to execution of the established scope of work;
Managing resources for assigned cases, including both in-house and third-party sub-contractors where applicable, to meet established deadlines;

Supporting EDT's marketing and business development resources including occasionally participating in client-relations meetings, attending industry conferences, preparing marketing and technical presentations, assisting with the development of marketing materials, preparing industry blogs and white papers, and engaging with other industry professionals;
Participating in EDT's mentorship program and supporting the training and development of new engineers in conjunction with the Chief Engineer and assigned Training Coordinator;
