A nationally recognized plaintiffs' firm is actively seeking a Litigation Attorney driven to assist individuals harmed by corporate misconduct. The cases they handle are intricate, dynamic, and involve multiple defendants, leading to substantial settlements and verdicts. They uphold a collaborative, accessible atmosphere where teamwork is paramount in effectively representing their clients. To maintain this ethos, the position requires in-office presence in STL. As a Litigation Attorney, you will receive comprehensive training in mesothelioma (asbestos - product liability) litigation if you come from a personal injury, or related practice, and swiftly assume responsibilities for case management. Tasks include conducting written discovery, depositions, motion drafting and advocacy, and trial participation as second chair. While prior trial experience is advantageous, it's not mandatory. They work entails significant client interaction, engaging with families navigating through their most trying times. Demonstrating empathy and establishing rapport with individuals from diverse backgrounds are critical attributes for success in this role. Qualifications Must hold a J.D. from an ABA-accredited institution and be admitted to the MO bar. Specific medical related litigation is ideal, however plaintiff PI (personal injury), or related practice work is also great as well (no defense work). Travel is approximately 8 trips/month, but mostly 1-2 night trips, and there is always the possibility of local clients that could be day trips. Additionally, there may be some national travel that happens from time to time as well. Travel is related for depos, trial, meet with other teams, etc., but mostly for client meetings. Once you get up to speed, attorneys will usually work on 15-18 cases, depending on the complexity. This firm prefers to go to trial, and the partners step in at that stage of the legal proceedings.
