Job Description
We have an opening for a current graduate student to engage in an in-person, 6-month long research experience related to the Pandora Small Satellite mission. Pandora will collect visible and near infrared observations of a sample of nearby exoplanets and will study both the planet atmosphere and the host star variability using long time baseline observations. The Pandora mission is funded by the NASA Pioneers program and is a collaboration between NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, NASA Ames Research Center, and a host of other research and university institutions.
This opportunity comes with a significant time allocation on LLNL's world-leading high-performance computing platforms so is particularly well suited for a student with interests in compute-intensive modelling and simulation projects. There will be also opportunities to directly interface with the Pandora engineering team based at LLNL and the potential to work on science projects closely related to instrumentation.
The graduate student will work under the supervision of an LLNL scientist within the Pandora collaboration on a project related to Pandora core science or auxiliary science. The specific project topic is flexible and can be designed to align with the student's research interests and PhD thesis project. This position is in the Astronomy & Astrophysics Analytics Group within the Physics Division.

You will
Work with LLNL scientists and engineers conducting research and development on the Pandora Small Satellite.
Have the opportunity to learn techniques related to high performance computing systems and cutting-edge statistical inference and modeling methods.
Have the opportunity attend weekly talks at LLNL including the Space Science Institute seminar series.
Interact with a broad spectrum of scientists and engineers internally at LLNL.
Conduct research in assigned area under limited direction and supervision.
Perform scientific assignments at an appropriate level of complexity and work collaboratively on scientific research and development projects.
Analyze results and provide weekly updates to the Pandora collaboration
Present work through oral presentations and/or poster sessions.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Must be eligible to access the Laboratory in compliance with Section 3112 of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). See Additional Information section below for details.
Must be a continuing PhD student in good standing at an accredited institution pursuing a graduate degree.
Demonstrated academic achievement in astrophysics via peer-reviewed publications
Effective communication skills.

Job Description
We have multiple openings for Administrative Specialists in the Strategic Deterrence Directorate. Working under limited supervision, you will manage a wide range of complex administrative responsibilities with competing priorities, requiring independent judgment and proactive follow-through. You will serve as a key resource for daily operations, solve problems, develop and implement new processes, interpret policy, and provide recommendations. Assignments often demand flexibility, discretion, and mature judgment in handling sensitive issues. This role involves frequent interaction with all levels of personnel, both within the Laboratory and with external organizations, including Federal agencies. These positions will be in the Strategic Deterrence (SD) Directorate.
These positions may offer a hybrid schedule, which includes the flexibility to work from home one or more days per week, after a probationary period. In this role, you will
* Provide administrative support to the program staff, representing management in daily matters to gather, clarify, communicate, and disseminate information and coordinate activities; respond on their behalf on administrative matters both internal and external to the Laboratory.
* Gather, select, and compile information from various sources for reports and presentations, generate and compose correspondence for management's signature.

What Your Job Will Be Like
We are now accepting applications for the 2026 Gil Herrera Fellowship in Quantum Information Science. This is a prestigious postdoctoral research and academic fellowship with funding from Sandia's Laboratory Directed Research and Development program. Selected fellows will also be able to take part in our strong academic partnerships between Sandia and our partner universities, which include the University of New Mexico (UNM), UC Berkeley, UCLA, University of Illinois, Purdue, GA Tech, UT Austin, and many others.
We seek researchers with a background and interest in the broadly defined interdisciplinary area domain of Quantum Information Science (QIS) and related scientific fields, such as physics, mathematics, computer science, and engineering. We are particularly interested in applicants who can conduct self-directed theoretical and/or experimental research and serve as mentors to students in subject areas such as: algorithms and applications; design, fabrication, benchmarking, characterization, and optimization of quantum devices, novel qubit calibration and control schemes, quantum device and noise modeling, experimental design and discovery, and error mitigation techniques for multi-qubit quantum platforms. As a Herrera postdoctoral fellow, you will have opportunities to:

Job Description
We have an opening for a Flight Test Analysis Group Leader supporting the LLNL Independent Diagnostic Scoring System (LIDSS) program. LIDSS provides unique diagnostic, data analysis and scoring capabilities for NNSA and DoD weapons sustainment, modernization, and development programs through advanced analysis of flight test data.
The Analysis Group provides timely, accurate, and actionable analytic products to program sponsors and stakeholders. These deliverables include scoring reports, memos, comprehensive written analyses, and materials that support mission planning and follow-up activities.
The successful candidate will lead a team of analysts in developing new methodologies, maintaining high-quality deliverables, and advancing the state-of-the-art in data analysis and processing. We have an opening for an Assurance Officer with primary focus on the Superblock. Qualifications
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access which requires U.S. Citizenship.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science or relevant technical field or the equivalent combination of education and related experience.
Experience with and advanced level knowledge in one or more spacecraft subsystems or functions including but not limited to: system requirements, integration and test, launch support, on-orbit operations, attitude and orbital controls, propulsion, solar and array design, electrical power systems, avionics, data handling and on-board processing, thermal, structures and mechanisms, telemetry, tracking, and control (TT&C), RF antennas and communications, synthetic aperture radar (SAR) payloads, and/or electro- optical (EO) payloads.

Job Description
We have an opening for a law student completing their second year of law school to serve as a Law Clerk in the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (Laboratory or LLNL) Office of General Counsel (OGC) during summer 2026.
The OGC is comprised of eleven experienced attorneys, as well as other legal professionals, who provide legal advice and support to the Laboratory across a wide spectrum of practice areas. You can anticipate assignments in any of the substantive areas relevant to operation of the Laboratory: e.g., litigation; business transactions; environmental, safety and health; government contracts; export law; employment law; and more.

Sandia's AI team 1466 is building DOE's next-generation AI Platform around three pillars Data, Models, and Infrastructure to solve high-impact "lighthouse problems" in agile deterrence, energy dominance, and critical materials. As a Postdoctoral Appointee, you"ll join the Data Pillar team to design, implement, and operate Sandia's AI-ready, zero-trust data ecosystem. We have multiple openings for a Superblock Capabilities Portfolio Manager to lead and manage programmatic capability development teams in the Superblock, a DOE Hazard Category 2 nuclear facility. You will manage and execute a large and diverse portfolio of technical projects to achieve critical LLNL missions, and will often be involved in significant R&D projects, applying your expertise to create innovative solutions. You will develop staffing plans, strategic plans, and budgets. You will lead large engineering teams in designing and installing new equipment and capabilities in the Superblock. This position is in the Defense Technologies Engineering Division (DTED) within the Engineering Directorate.

We have an opening for a Payroll Accounting Assistant to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Under minimal supervision, you will perform advanced and complex payroll accounting tasks, solve problems of a broad scope and complexity, and develop and implement new techniques and procedures. You will
Perform complex Payroll processing tasks through the PeopleSoft 9.2 system for exempt and non-exempt employees.

You will
Conduct technical tasks and provide advanced level direction in the development of procurement packages that include statements of work, subcontractor submittal requirements, technical and quality assurance requirements, acceptance testing and receipt inspection requirements, security-related requirements and environmental, safety and health requirements.
Contribute to and oversee activities in the design and constructability review processes and in the interpretation of new and existing designs, design & installation drawings, design & procurement specifications, and applicable codes & standards to develop and issue procurement packages.
Represent the organization as a procurement engineering representative and partner with members on Integrated Project Teams (IPTs) for multiple LLNL capital projects.
Develop, review, and issue Commercial Grade Dedication (CGD) packages and test plans in accordance with the LLNL CGD Program.
Conduct on-site audits and remote administrative reviews of suppliers to assess their quality management systems and processes, including verifying the implementation of and consistent adherence to standard requirements and assembly processes, determining and providing necessary process improvements, identifying and mitigating risks, and ensuring progress on assembly of complex equipment.

Determine, direct, and support integrated team activities related to procurement engineering to support the overall project requirements, including technical quality, cost, and schedule.
Utilize independent judgment, discretion, and considerable latitude to negotiate and resolve diverse and highly complex project/program requirements.
Provide leadership and act as a Procurement Engineering subject matter expert for project teams.
Serve as the customer interface for all Commercial Grade Dedication activities.
Identify, assess, and implement process improvements for achieving increased efficiency and ensuring compliance to quality requirements across the program.
Qualifications
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. Citizenship.
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical area or the equivalent combination of education and related technical experience.
Substantial experience and advanced level knowledge in the implementation of quality assurance requirements with emphasis on design, procurement, control of items, material traceability, records, shipping & handling, test & inspection control, and special processes.
Substantial experience in procurement engineering and advanced knowledge of engineering principles and procedures, design guides, appropriate standards and administrative practices.
Demonstrated ability to clearly articulate, effectively interpret, and ensure design documentation meets established requirements.
Substantial experience, advanced knowledge, and demonstrated skills with QA/QC documentation approaches and practices, including preparing, reviewing, and approving technical documents that support procurement actions, as well as installation instructions, verifications, acceptance, and testing documents. Advanced communication, facilitation, collaboration, and interpersonal skills necessary to effectively present, explain, and provide assessments and advice to senior management and external sponsors.
Additional qualifications at the TSS.4 level
Knowledge of and experience using Codes and Standards such as: ASME, AWS, UL, NEMA, ASTM material Standards (Materials, chemical analysis methods, welding, leak testing, pressure testing), NRC and DOE Commercial Grade Dedication documents, IEEE 323 and 344).
Significant experience and demonstrated success in balancing, prioritizing, and managing multiple concurrent tasks to meet project schedule demands and management direction.
Demonstrated ability, skills, and experience to effectively build consensus and influence senior management, external sponsors, regulators, reviewers, and stakeholders.
Significant experience with and expert level knowledge of engineering principles and procedures, safety basis design & appropriate standards, and administrative practices as applied to DOE non-reactor nuclear and high hazard facilities with schedule and cost control systems.
Subject matter expertise in engineering principles, safety basis design & appropriate standards, and administrative practices as applied to DOE high hazard nuclear facilities.
Expert level knowledge of engineering concepts including single failure criteria, common mode vs. common cause failures, and failure modes and effects analysis.
Qualifications We Desire
Advanced experience as a procurement engineer/specialist at a DOE facility, commercial Nuclear Power Plant, or Nuclear Construction Projects.
Advanced knowledge of industry, regulatory or Department of Energy (DOE) nuclear complex codes, standards, and criteria pertinent to quality assurance and facility safety.
Experience in performing commercial grade item dedication and environmental equipment qualification to ensure that structures, systems, and components meet both technical and quality requirements.
Familiarity with welding, non-destructive evaluation, and metallic & non-metallic materials.

We have an opening for an Accelerator Physics Postdoctoral Researcher in the National Security Engineering Division (NSED) within the Engineering Directorate. You will work on modeling and performing experiments for accelerators, plasmas, pulsed power, and other technically challenging problems. You will assist in the creation of innovative solutions for multiple programs at LLNL and contribute to the research and development of next-generation platforms. This position is in Accelerator Operations Group in the National Security Engineering Division (NSED), within the Engineering Directorate. This group is engaged in several projects, including Advanced Sources and Detectors (ASD) Scorpius-the National Nuclear Security Administration's (NNSA) new flagship radiography machine currently under construction-solid-state bipolar pulsed power, plasma pinches, and multiphysics code development. The team is integrated across the laboratory, providing expert input on high-impact facilities such as the National Ignition Facility (NIF) and the Flash X-Ray (FXR) facility, as well as similar facilities at other laboratories. By leveraging new technologies and pioneering innovative techniques that promise to be disruptive in the field, the group is seeking a post-doctoral physicist or engineer to complement and enhance its current capabilities.

In this role, you will
Conduct fundamental research, design, implementation, and analysis in one or more of the following areas: pulsed power, accelerator physics, accelerator diagnostics and experiments, z-pinch plasma diagnostics and experiments, simulations of experiments.

Contribute to the conception, design, and execution of research to address scientific and technical problems.

We have an opening for an Associate Program Leader (APL) for Supply Chain Security. You will have responsibility for leading the growth, development and execution of a portfolio of work focused on understanding and mitigating national security risks related to disruption of supply chains. Potential disruptions may stem from cyber threats. Additionally, concerns about companies like Huawei and their presence in 5G communication infrastructure serves as an example. Others include more broad gray zone-type threats like China's dominance of the supply of rare earth minerals. You will

* Engage with LLNL leadership external to IPO in functional and programmatic areas, and DOE stakeholders to complete institutional and programmatic objectives, execute long-term goals, and champion initiatives.

Qualifications

* Subject matter expert in IP, including patenting and copyright rules and processes. Demonstrated experience applying IP principles to technology transfer projects.
* Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience, including leading teams or projects. Proven ability to build and maintain relationships within the organization and with external partners.

Job Description
We have an opening for a Travel Accounting Accountant to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. You will work independently and under general direction following established procedures to provide support and assistance to the Travel Accounting and Accounts Payable team. Perform disbursement overview and develop and implement new techniques and procedures. This position is in the Disbursements Division of the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) Organization.
You will
Perform advanced review and approval of domestic, foreign, and non-employee travel reimbursement through the ePay system, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.
Interpret and apply travel accounting policies and procedures; provide guidance regarding reimbursement, travel policies, and problem resolution assistance to LLNL organizations.
Research and reconcile reimbursement issues with employees and non-employees within established procedures, escalating complex or exceptional issues to senior staff or management as appropriate.
Review and process refunds and credits to projects and tasks, cancel checks, cost expired LLNL purchased airfare, and work reports to ensure timely reimbursement of travel expenses.
Respond to Accounts Payable and Travel Accounting customer service calls and assist Resource Analysts and other LLNL customers in resolving vendor and travel payment inquiries.
Reconcile Travel Accounting balance sheet accounts for management approval, including preparation of journal vouchers and project cost transfers.
Assist with internal and external audit requests by preparing supporting documentation and participating in self-assessments as directed.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and assist in implementing approved changes to travel accounting procedures.
May provide guidance to non-exempt staff and interact with personnel across the Laboratory.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent combination of related experience, education, and training in the finance/accounting field.
Fundamental knowledge of accounting theory, policies, procedures, and regulations, as well as knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Experience using ePay or other reimbursement applications and advanced knowledge and experience with computer-based spreadsheets, report generated applications and communication tools (e.g., Microsoft Suite, Outlook, ServiceNow).
Demonstrated strong organizational skills, managing multiple tasks with frequent interruptions, while providing a high level of customer service and solving complex problems independently.
Ability to apply analytical skills to research, interpret, perform elementary analysis, compile, and present financial data and information.
Ability to establish own work priorities and to execute assignments, meeting time-sensitive deadlines and working on multiple tasks simultaneously.
Experience interpreting and applying financial policy and procedures, including State and Federal policies, procedures and regulations and experience in applying and ensuring internal controls are followed.
Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills necessary to work with all levels of personnel, both internal and external to the Laboratory, while maintaining effective working relationships with clients, co-workers, external vendors, and Laboratory service units.

Job Description
We have an opening for a Kubernetes and Application Infrastructure Engineer. You will play a key role in creating reliable Helm charts and Kubernetes manifests, improving CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring smooth containerization and deployment of microservices. This position is part of the Enterprise Infrastructure Services (EIS) Division within the Computing Directorate, supporting the Livermore Information Technology (LivIT) program. This position is in the EIS Division within the Computing Directorate, is support of the LivIT program.
This position offers a hybrid schedule, blending in-person and virtual presence. You will have the flexibility to work from home one or more days per week.
You will
* Architect, implement, and manage highly available enterprise applications and scalable Kubernetes clusters across cloud, such as AWS, GCP, and Azure, and on-premises environments, leveraging strong knowledge of application servers, web services, and related technologies to support enterprise IT service delivery.
* Develop, optimize, and maintain Helm charts, Kubernetes manifests, and automation scripts to enable efficient deployment and operation of microservices architectures.
* Leverage systems programming and automation tools (e.g., Python, Bash, Terraform, Ansible) to orchestrate, monitor, configure, secure, and patch Enterprise applications, Kubernetes clusters and containerized services.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, IT managers, systems and database administrators, and security personnel, to design and deliver robust, secure, and scalable application infrastructures.
* Manage the full lifecycle of Enterprise application and Kubernetes environments, including capacity planning, upgrades, documentation, standards enforcement, security compliance, vulnerability remediation, and performance monitoring.
* Provide operational support for Enterprise Application, Kubernetes, Docker, and related technologies, such as ingress controllers, load balancers, and API gateways, to meet negotiated Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
* Implement and enforce security best practices within container environments, including RBAC, secrets management, network policies, vulnerability scanning, and DevSecOps principles.

Qualifications
* Ability to obtain and maintain a US DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. Citizenship.

* Extensive experience implementing, managing, and supporting applications and cloud service infrastructures, including monitoring, security, and lifecycle management, across a range of technologies, such as Java Play, Oracle WebLogic, Apache, Tomcat, IIS, load balancers, API gateways, Kubernetes, and various enterprise COTS solutions.
* Significant experience with systems programming and/or automation tools, such as Python, Bash, Go, Terraform, Ansible, and Helm, to create, configure, monitor, and automate the management of Kubernetes and application infrastructures, including O/S administration, configuration management, CI/CD deployments, or security administration.
* Advanced knowledge of Docker and containerization principles.
* Advanced experience with major cloud platforms and their managed Kubernetes services, such as AWS EKS, GCP GKE, Azure AKS.
* Advanced knowledge of core networking concepts, including load balancing, DNS, firewalls, and network policies within cloud-native and Kubernetes environments.
