Job Description Assistant Teacher/Teach Aide Educational Qualifications. Assistant teachers/teacher aides must have a minimum of a Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential reflective of the age group of children they are supporting. Assists children to wash their hands when entering class, after bathroom and meal times. Assists children in self-select activities. Helps with diaper changes as needed, supervises bathrooms, or supervises the class. Assists with breakfast set up including but not limited to putting placemats, food on tables, help child find seat, putting on bibs, washing hands and helping children serve food.
