    The Leidos DIGMOD team has an opportunity for a Transport Monitor intern to work in 1 of 3 great locations. This opportunity will provide the selected candidate with hands on experience working in an enterprise level Network Operations Center and will boost their knowledge of network topologies, port and protocol usage as well as different vendor devices all while providing services to the Navy Warfighter. This position will be Monday through Friday (0800 to 1700 local time), however there may be occasional temporary assignments to the overnight shifts for familiarization with additional Enterprise Operations such as maintenance actions, etc. **Primary Responsibilities** + The Transport Monitor Team is responsible for monitoring events and incidents that affect Network Transport and service health across the Enterprise, documenting outage information including actions taken to respond to incidents and resolve or escalate any outage. + The Current Operations Watch team monitors multiple Transport solutions (WLAN, LAN, and WAN) which are critical to the functionality of our users' ability to perform their mission on a daily basis. + Utilize internal systems to report incidents to leadership. + Takes escalations of any alerts/events identified as significant and requiring action. + Performs initial assessment and triage on the criticality and impact of events and engages the appropriate processes and personnel if escalation outside Current Operations is required. + Provides resolutions to Transport events (WAN and LAN) within set processes and facilitates escalation to higher tiers as required. + Interact with outside vendors and specialist WAN/LAN teams to resolve network events and incidents + Ability to leverage knowledge of Vendor products used in the environment + Execute network infrastructure changes in response to Engineering requirements, Government Directed Actions (GDA's), and other authorized change orders under the supervision of senior Engineers. + Provides support to Site Operations and other external organizations through the use of problem resolution skills and independent decision making. + Maintains timely (5 minutes or less) response to network infrastructure warning, critical and fatal event alert notices. + Ensures the Critical Situation Manager is apprised of all details regarding any significant events or incidents. **Basic Qualifications:** + Pursuing a Bachelors degree in a Networking IT program through an accredited college. GCCS-J supports commanders and warfighers as they conduct joint and multinational operations by providing a fused picture of the battlespace within an integrated system that is supporting Joint Warfighter needs today. GCCS-J is focused on meeting emerging operational needs through sustainment and synchronization support to operational baselines (Global, Joint Operations Planning and Execution System (JOPES) and three product areas (Situational Awareness, Infrastructure, and Intelligence). Along with sustainment and synchronization, GCCS-J will focus on modifying and enhancing elements or capabilities to implement new requirements, enhance functionality, increase efficiency, or lower operating/deployment costs incorporating agile technologies and capabilities. The position also involves providing support for set-up and staffing of system demonstrations. Some travel is required (less than 25%), but every effort is made to deconflict with personal responsibilities. The work environment is that of a casual small-company feel but backed by large-company resources and infrastructure. Responsibilities: Full life cycle product testing to include but not limited unit, functional, and integration testing on a variety of architectures and target hardware platforms.
