Responsible for supporting teachers in instructing scholars using the classical model of learning combined with data-driven decision-making. Will support the teacher with the differentiation of needs and behaviors within one classroom.
Qualifications/Minimum Requirements:

AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card / Background and Criminal History Clearance.
First Aid and CPR Certification.
Valid Food handlers card.
Current TB test (completed within the last 6 months)

Essential Functions and Areas of Responsibility:
Support the learning environment established by the classroom teacher and enforce rules and procedures for responsible behavior, maintaining order among the scholars for whom you are responsible.
Prepare materials and instructional resources for use in the classroom and class activities based on the classical model, as guided by the classroom teacher.
Provide Instructional support to scholars using the whole class approach, small, leveled groups, and individuals using various teaching techniques and methods as directed by the classroom teacher.
Provide supervision to scholars in hallways, during drop off, lunch, and pick-up as directed by the Site Director. Supervise with a “safety first” mindset.
Read books to entire classes or small groups.
Administer formative assessments and assignments as directed by the classroom teacher and/or site Director.
Maintain accurate and complete scholar records as required by the school and laws and as directed by the classroom teacher.
Prepare scholars for later grades by encouraging them to explore learning opportunities and to persevere with challenging tasks.
Support the Teacher's enforcement of administration policies and rules governing scholars.
Instruct and monitor scholars in the use and care of equipment and materials to prevent injuries and damage.
Attend professional development meetings and training workshops when requested by Administration in order to maintain and improve professional skills and competence.
Perform additional duties as directed by the Site Director, knowing that your position is not exclusive of supporting the operations and learning of the school site.
Assist in storing and inventory classroom equipment, materials, and supplies.
Maintain confidentiality per FERPA.

SUMMARY: Assist students by helping individuals or small groups of students with reading, writing and basic math skills, implementing instruction, reinforcing learning skills, and reinforcing school-wide discipline procedures. Assistsinstructor with preparation of classroom materials, monitoring students, and evaluating and recording student achievement.

Job Tasks Descriptions
1. Assist students with classroom activities. Implements teacher's instruction plan. Performs tutoring, both individually and with small groups to ensure mastering of subjects. Responsibilities include implementation of age-appropriate educational activities; provide direction and guidance to students; effectively handle student discipline; ensure student safety and security; communicate with parents, staff, and teachers; clean classroom areas; and record attendance.
2. Assist teachers in preparing materials, administering tests, grading, attendance, etc. Assist with paperwork and documentation as needed.
3. Monitor students during breaks, recess, time outs, on field trips, etc.
4. Assist with special projects. May administer first aide and/or assist students to clinic or nurse.
5. Perform other job-related duties as assigned including lunchroom/playground duty.
EDUCATION AND RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE:
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• No experience required.
• Experience in working with school age children preferred.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS or CERTIFICATIONS:
• Criminal background check required for hire.
• First Aid certification preferred.
• Must successfully complete the Adams County BOCES Safety Training Class within 30 days of entering position.

SALARY INFORMATION:
All Classified positions are paid on an hourly basis. All Newly hired classified employees are placed initially on Step 1 of the pay grade for their position. Classified employees can advance an additional 7 steps (maximum Step 8) based on their previous experience. Final hourly placement on the Classified Salary schedule is dependent on the Grade Level for the position being posted and employees' previous work experience. “Grade” refers to position or job classification and “Step” refers to the number of work experience credit or service years. Lunch/Recess Paraprofessional Job Description
The K-12 Lunch/Recess Paraprofessional is responsible for the safety and well-being of students at lunch and recess. This position will monitor, help, communicate, and direct students as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities
Monitor students during lunch and recess.
Monitor students in the cafeteria, waiting in line, and while eating.
Ensure all students have something to eat. Assist students in opening containers during lunch.
Assist and support behavior management.
Communicate behavioral concerns to administration.
Provide assistance for students requiring additional guidance.
Assess the playground for security and the condition of the equipment for safety. Report concerns to the appropriate staff member.
Ensure the safety of students under all conditions.
Demonstrate ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students in the school environment and community.
Facilitate the resolution of problems that might arise with students.
Complete other duties as assigned.
Education and Related Work Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent.
