1. Prepares beverages, assists with food preparation, sets up and works patient trayline. 2. Operates dishmachine, garbage disposal, and other equipment in dishroom. 3. Performs assigned cleaning responsibilities such as sweeping, mopping, cleaning carts, walls, etc. 4. Puts up and rotates stock, carries out boxes and garbage, and cleans stock room. 5. Receive and monitor patient meal orders received through diet software as needed. Prepares meal requests for patient and guest trays. Notifies ambassadors of prepared meals and delivers carts to appropriate areas (and delivers meal trays to patients if needed). 6. Picks up dirty dishes from patient floors and brings back to dishroom for cleaning. 7. Checks temperature of foods, drinks, and dishmachine and records on appropriate forms. 8. Covers, labels, and puts leftovers in the refrigerator and disposes of wastes properly (including leftover food from coolers, freezer, etc.). 9. As required by specific assignment, prepares, plates, and serves salads, desserts, sandwiches, etc. using recipes, dietary guidelines, and production sheets. 10. Develops and maintains a positive work climate and the overall team effort of the department. 11. Assists in cafeteria as needed. 12. Prepare special order items as requested for catering. 13. Under the direct supervision of the Director of Nutrition Services, the Dietary Aide is to courteously and professional prepare and serve all residents' and their guests' meals in the dining rooms. Maintains a neat and orderly work area and informs their Supervisor of food needs and resident questions and concerns that he/she is unable to answer. Sets up, serves and breaks down special functions. Is a key person in public relations for the community due to the direct contact with residents and guests. Qualifications: The Nutritional Consultant/ Registered Dietitian must have a degree in his/her area of expertise or related field.
