What you will be doing:
Conduct daily triage (sick call) as required by policy,
Supervise the administration of medication and maintain Medication Administration Records for Program youth,
Supervise medication procurement, verification, perpetual inventories, and proper storage as dictated by Federal, State, and contractual standards,
Ensure follow-up instructions from all off-campus providers are followed as ordered and recorded in the Electronic Medical Records and/or Individual Health Care Records as required,
Conduct and document medical related in-service trainings for Team Members,
Communicate with Administration and/or Shift Supervisor every day prior to sick call and conduct shift-to shift medication count at end of day,
Conduct and document health education classes for all youth/family as needed,
Communicate with other department Team Members and participate on treatment team as a treatment Team Member regarding medical needs of youth as needed.
Role requirements:
Associate's degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred,
Clear and Active license and Nursing Degree - must be in good standing in the State of employment,
Experience in pediatric nursing and/or within a correctional facility preferred,
Intermediate Microsoft skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PPT),
Experience with electronic medical records preferred.

Position Summary
The Nurse role is responsible for ensuring all Affiliated AMIkids Program clients receive the proper medical treatment as dictated by Rule 63M-2 F. A. C. The Nurse is responsible for sick call, routine medical care including episodic care, admission required screenings, medical records upkeep, communication with offsite medical providers, transportation when required, training for program staff, routine emergency drills, and monitoring of all clients' medical and dental needs.
Work Schedule: 20-29 hours per week, with shifts scheduled on various days Mon.-Sun, between 6am-6pm.
Essential Job Functions

Serve as a positive role model for all youth,
May be required to work evenings and weekends as needed,
Attend required trainings/professional development events and maintain appropriate certifications and licensure,
Assist/lead special projects and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education, Training and Experience
In good standing in the State of employment with a clear and active license and a degree in nursing,
Experience in pediatric nursing and/or working within a correctional facility preferred,
Obtain and maintain appropriate crisis intervention and physical restraint training and certification as defined by state requirements,
Must obtain and maintain current ACLS, BLS AED certification by nationally recognized organization.

Graduate of a nursing program.
All entry-level associate degree registerednurses with a RN start date of April 1, 2020 and after must provide documented evidence of program completion of a baccalaureate degree in nursing program within five years from the last day of the month of the RN start date.

Clinical Duties

Prepares detailed reports and maintains records concerning infectious disease surveillance, investigation and other necessary infection control practices in the case of an outbreak

Provides electronic medical records technical training and assistance to other staff members
Participates in the development, implementation, and review of clinical policies concerning infection control and other medical initiatives
Maintains and stores a limited supply of psychotropic medications according to agency procedure and Joint Commission guidelines.
Maintains compliance at all times with C4's policies regarding clinical documentation
Maintains compliance with confidentiality policies and procedures at all times
Attend clinical meetings, supervision and trainings
Oversee Infectious Control policies
Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Minimum Qualifications:
Current license as a RegisteredNurse in Illinois or LPN with 7 years of leadership experience
Bachelor's degree
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a hospital or clinic setting as a registerednurse
Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Personal vehicle, valid Illinois driver's license, and insurable driving record required

Responsibilities
The registerednurse (RN) is accountable for the coordination of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transitions of care. The RN supports professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care to meet the needs of the patient and family. The RN will function within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model, which includes accountability for planning, implementing, evaluating and communicating all phases of nursing care for assigned patients. The ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice provide a basis for the practice of the RN. The RN provides leadership through activities such as preceptor role, informal and formal leadership roles, and quality improvement efforts. The RN delegates patient care according to skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability and availability of resources. The RN possesses excellent communication skills; is skillful in mentoring and teaching; and may participate on committees or projects. A subset of employees may be required to drive their personal vehicle as a part of the responsibility of their role.
Qualifications
Graduate of a baccalaureate nursing program.
One year of RN experience in an applicable care setting or one year of LPN experience at Mayo Clinic is preferred.
Additional Qualifications:
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
Experience working in a team environment.
Computer skills required, prior experience with electronic medical record systems preferred.
Ability to work flexible hours, which may include days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends and on-call.
Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the work setting. Demonstrated leadership, effective communicator, and excellent critical thinking skills.
License and Certifications:
Current RN license by applicable state requirements.
Arizona and Florida - Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) competency. Midwest - Maintains current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers from one of the following programs: American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Positions that are not on campus may not require current Basic Life Support (BLS) competency as determined by the work area.
Additional state licensure(s) and/or specialty certification/training as required by the work area.
