Quality Assurance Nurse (RN)
About the Role
The Cedars of Chapel Hill is seeking a Quality Assurance Nurse (RN) to ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of nursing documentation while supporting quality care and staff training in our Health Center. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented nurse who enjoys both clinical and administrative responsibilities in a supportive, resident-centered environment.
Responsibilities
Reconcile daily physician orders and ensure all entries are correct in the Vision system.
Support admissions, transfers, and discharges - including documentation and order entry.
Audit nursing records for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
Conduct weekly, monthly, and quarterly assessments and audits.
Lead in-service education and training for nursing staff and CNAs.
Oversee vaccine management and infection control procedures.
Audit narcotic records, medication carts, and refrigerated medication storage.
Monitor supply levels and coordinate with the Director of Nursing (DON) for replenishment.
Assist with lab draws, ordering lab supplies, and oxygen management.
Participate in state and federal surveys and inspections.
Complete monthly pharmacy reports and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
Assist in orienting new staff, members, and families.
Carry the on-call phone on a rotating basis and attend required team meetings.
Provide direct nursing care as needed.
Qualifications
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing with the State of North Carolina.
Strong organizational, auditing, and documentation skills.
Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
Ability to multitask and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced setting.
Experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred.
Physical Requirements
Able to move throughout the facility during the day.
Lift up to 20 lbs as needed.
Occasional exposure to communicable diseases and odors.

This unit requires excellent critical thinking skills and quick decision-making skills.
