The CLIN Exercise Physiologist - PRN:
Works in a nationally certified cardiac and pulmonary rehab program for all phases of rehab (in-patient and out-patient)
Plans, coordinates, and implements exercise and related programs for both cardiac and pulmonary rehab
Provide assessments and treatments of patients
Perform a wide a variety of non-invasive cardiac and pulmonary tests
Organize and conduct medically prescribed cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation services for inpatients and/or outpatients to restore function, prevent disability following disease, injury, or loss of a body part, improve cardiac and pulmonary healing
Assist the patient in reaching his/her maximum possible level of functioning to assume a place in society while learning to live within the limits of their disease
Follows guidelines, requirements, and recommendations from AACVPR and ACSM
Innovations improve work procedures and methods and primarily result in some time and cost savings
Work frequently requires internal contacts outside the work group to exchange work-related information
Contact with external contacts involves providing or getting factual information
Requires normal courtesy and tact in dealing with others
Education:
Master's Degree of Science in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, or Kinesiology or related field.
Must pass hospital Arrhythmia test within three (3) months of hire.
Licensure/Certification:
Current ACLS certification required. ACL needs to be obtained prior or within the first three (3) months of employment.
Current CPR certification.
American College of Sports Medicine Exercise Specialist certification and/or American College of Sports Medicine Registered Clinical Exercise Physiology Exam preferred.
Experience:
Two (2) or more years experience in cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation setting required, relevant to the setting(s) to which the employee will be assigned.
Knowledge of Scottcare telemetry system preferred

Job Description
Job Summary
Delivers advanced occupational therapy services through the evaluation of patient needs, goal determination, and development of treatment plans according to the principles and practices of occupational therapy services. May lead or engage in professional development and performance improvement activities. Responsible for identifying, resolving, and/or escalating clinical and operational issues and assists in selection and maintenance of equipment.
Primary Responsibilities
The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification. They are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all job responsibilities performed.
Performs advanced occupational therapy services to patients in accordance with generally accepted occupational therapy standards, Maryland State Board Practice, code of ethics, and departmental and/or organizational procedures.
Performs patient assessments and develops individualized treatment plan programs for clients/patients to promote health, well-being, and the patient's ability to participate in the important activities in their life. Develops and maintains long- and short-term treatment objectives and re-evaluates and modifies treatment programs as necessary.
Records patient evaluations, re-evaluations and care provided in the medical record in accordance with departmental documentation standards.
Informs patients, families, medical and occupational therapy team members of evaluation results and plan for treatment and refers for further evaluation.

Qualifications
Education & Experience - Required
Education: Master's degree required. Bachelor's degree accepted if licensed prior to 2008 (per previous requirement).
Experience: One year of acute care experience preferred.
Licensure/Certifications:
Licensed OccupationalTherapist in the state of Maryland
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Ability to access, review, and integrate information from a variety of sources to develop a treatment plan.
Strong verbal, written, and non-verbal communication skills, including the ability to instruct others.
Interpersonal skills to enable the therapist to establish and maintain rapport with patient as part of the therapeutic relationship.
