Job Purpose: - The BA/BS Crisis Hotline Counselor at LIFESTREAM BEHAVIORAL CENTER is responsible for providing immediate support and intervention to individuals experiencing emotional distress or crisis. The counselor will utilize their expertise to assess situations, offer appropriate guidance, and connect callers with necessary resources to ensure their safety and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond promptly and professionally to incoming crisis hotline calls during assigned shifts.
- Conduct thorough assessments of callers' emotional and mental states to determine the level of risk and appropriate intervention.
- Provide empathetic and non-judgmental support to individuals in crisis, employing active listening and effective communication techniques.
- Develop and implement crisis intervention strategies tailored to the needs of each caller.
- Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of all interactions and interventions in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other mental health professionals and agencies to coordinate care and resources for callers in need of additional support.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay informed of best practices in crisis intervention and mental health care.
- Adhere to all ethical guidelines and confidentiality requirements to protect the privacy and rights of callers.
- Contribute to the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the crisis hotline team by actively participating in team meetings and providing feedback for continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Required Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a mental health or crisis intervention setting.
- Experience working with diverse populations in a counseling or support role.
- Familiarity with crisis hotline operations and protocols.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey empathy and support.

The Specialized Foster Care program (SFC) is designed to provide specialized (Matrix Program) and therapeutic (CHIPS Program) services to support adolescents, ages 8-18, to manage emotional, behavioral, and psychiatric problems in a highly supportive, individualized and flexible foster home setting. The SFC program uses a multi-disciplinary approach, evidenced-based practice, specially trained foster parents, clinical counselors, collaboration and therapeutic interventions. Overview:
Primary duty is the performance of work requiring advanced knowledge (Master's Degree) in the field of Human Services, and to use such advanced knowledge to consistently exercise discretion and independent judgment in providing the highest quality client-centered therapeutic services. Must also use such advanced knowledge to serve as a consultant and mentor to Bachelor's Level Direct Care employees and Behavioral Technicians, among other staff. This position is entrusted with a high level of responsibility and insight in treating clients and ensuring services are provided and documented in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, in addition to LCI and division standards. Based on the knowledge and degree required, this position will serve as a lead position in the provision of direct care. Therapeutic services include but are not limited to, assessment, treatment planning, direct service provision, person centered services and management of client risk and safety.
Qualifications:
Master's Degree in psychology, social work, counseling, rehabilitation, or a related human services field (a related human services field is one in which major course work includes the study of human behavior and development)
At least two (2) year(s) experience working with children 0-5, children over 5, and/or adolescents who have mental health, substance abuse and/or co-occurring disorders or developmental disabilities. (In lieu the two (2) year(s) experience, completion of a master's program internship at a mental health and/or substance abuse treatment provider, through an accredited counseling program can be substituted.)

Overview
The Forensic Case Manager is responsible for monitoring and assisting individuals involved in the criminal justice system who exhibit serious impairment due to mental illness. The focus of the position is on serving individuals under court supervision adjudicated Incompetent to Proceed or Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity consistent with Florida Statute 3.212 and Rules of Criminal Procedure 916. The Forensic Case Manager's goal is to enhance the independence, autonomy and quality of life of the individual served, while ensuring compliance with all judicial requirements to ensure public safety.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college with a major in counseling, social work, psychology, criminal justice, rehabilitation, special education, health education, or a related human services field (a related human services field is one in which major course work includes the study of human behavior and development).
Must have a minimum of two (2) years of full time or equivalent experience working with adults experiencing mental illness.
Must be eligible for enrollment as an Adult Case Manager by the State of Florida.
Must be a Certified Behavioral Health Case Manager (CBHCM) through the Florida Certification Board within six (6) months of start date
Must have knowledge of available resources in the service area for adults with mental illness.
Must have knowledge of and comply with state and federal statutes, rules and policies that effect the target population.
Must be able to travel locally to clients' homes, training locations and other locations as necessary.
Must be able to provide individualized, integrated mental health, substance abuse and co-occurring services to meet the needs of individuals served and their families.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work within the guidelines established in the policies and procedures of the agency and program.
Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with multidisciplinary staff.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Performs substance abuse and mental health outreach to parents who have Child Welfare involvement, engage substance using parents in support groups, screen, provide brief intervention and referral. Establish relationships with Child Protection Investigators, Child Welfare Case Managers, Court systems and community partners in order to remove barriers to services. Overview:
To be considered for an internship at Lakeview Center, a candidate must currently be enrolled as a student in a public or accredited private academic institution. Internship assignments are subject to supervisory capacity and there is no guarantee of placement. Internships are work-based activities in which students engage in learning through practical and relevant experiences at various internship sites. Job Purpose: - The FACT Peer Counselor at LIFESTREAM BEHAVIORAL CENTER is responsible for providing support and guidance to individuals facing mental health challenges. The role involves leveraging personal experiences to foster trust and empathy, facilitating recovery, and promoting well-being among clients. The counselor will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver person-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide peer support and counseling to clients, utilizing personal experiences to build rapport and trust.
- Assist clients in developing coping strategies and setting recovery goals.
- Facilitate group sessions and workshops aimed at promoting mental health awareness and recovery.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Advocate for clients' needs and rights within the healthcare system.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of client interactions and progress.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance counseling skills.
- Engage with community resources to connect clients with additional support services.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of peer support interventions, making adjustments as necessary.
- Contribute to a positive and supportive environment for both clients and staff.
Qualifications
Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a peer counseling or support role.
- Experience working with individuals with mental health or behavioral challenges.
- Familiarity with community resources and support systems.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to empathize and connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
