As a controls engineer in the field, you will be asked to travel throughout your assigned service area with a company vehicle to build customer relations and apply your technical expertise to on-site projects as you oversee field service deliverables, establish operational quality and assure customer satisfaction. You will provide customer support by performing on-site installation services and oversee any necessary diagnoses, troubleshooting, service, and repair of complex equipment and systems. You will check out and approve operational quality of system equipment, instruct customers in the operation and maintenance of the system and serve as company liaison with customers on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects. You can expect day and overnight trips. You will report to the Territory Services Manager and work from any one of the following locations: Michigan or Indiana. Your work will be primarily remote, with travel to customers within the region.
Your Responsibilities:
You will provide planned and/or emergency callout engineering services support for troubleshooting and resolving issues on control products and systems.
You will perform project management function for customer projects including needs identification, scheduling, tracking, and reporting.
You will provide services to support the installation, startup, maintenance, and operation of automation control systems and advanced manufacturing software applications, drive systems, manufacturing systems, industrial networks and the individual products that comprise these systems.
You will evaluate and approve operational quality of system equipment and serve as company liaison to the customer for multiple topics.
You will participate in the establishment, measurement, and achievement of customer satisfaction metrics.
You will develop and write documentation (validation project plans, standard operating procedures, qualification summary reports, system audits, technical reports, traceability matrix).
You will need to communicate with Rockwell Automation and customer management regarding project details.

What You Will Do:
The positions primary focus is the creation and validation of a centrally operational technology, robotics specification for all of Pratt and Whitney to utilize. FANUC DCS requirements and validation procedures
General programming requirements
Application error code assignment
Standard engineering procedures and documentation

Develop and assist the implementation of custom software. This includes:
Standardized program macros
Fault handling and recovery by process
