As the Metallurgical Laboratory Manager, you will be responsible for leading day-to-day operations of the metallurgical and materials testing laboratory to ensure compliance with GE Aerospace quality standards, customer requirements, and regulatory/industry specifications. In this role, you will oversee laboratory personnel, ensure accuracy and integrity of all metallurgical evaluations, and support production, Quality, Engineering, and Turbine Airfoils Value stream teams with a timely and reliable technical data. This role is in Beaver Creek Ohio, just outside Dayton. Job Description Roles and Responsibilities: * Lead and manage metallurgical lab technicians, providing guidance, workload management, training and performance feedback * Plan and prioritize laboratory testing, including microstructure evaluations, SEM analysis, failure analysis reports, and other material characterization evaluation from Quality/Engineering/Casting Technology teams * Ensure compliance with GE Aerospace specification requirements and procedures, industry standards (e.g. AS9100/ISO, AS13100, NADCAP) * Review and approve laboratory reports, ensuring accuracy, completeness, analysis and traceability of testing evaluations * Manage laboratory equipment, ensuring calibration, maintenance, and readiness of metallographic equipment, microscopes and other analytical instruments * Coordinate metallurgical investigations to support Quality, Engineering, and Manufacturing * Maintain traceability of samples, current documentation, test records, and electronic data systems in accordance Quality Management Systems. * Drive continuous improvement including 5S, waste reduction, and process optimization within the laboratory * Support audits (internal & external, NADCAP, AS9100, AS13100) to ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly * Ensure safety compliance, including proper use of PPE, chemical handling procedures, and maintaining a safe laboratory environment * Collaborate with Quality Engineers, Engineering, operations and leadership, providing materials and process insights, failure analysis reports, and technical recommendations Required Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Metallurgical and/or Materials testing laboratories.
