Reads, understands, and applies information from manufacturer's manuals for service, repair and or component replacement. Accurately reads blueprints (mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic). Completes proper documentation as required.
Interacts with and communicates with various groups and individuals, such as the immediate supervisor, other Park managers and staff, co-workers, guests, vendors, contractors, inspectors, etc.
Provides guest service according to Six Flags standards when serving the guest, including initiating guest interactions, answering questions, and giving directions.
Maintains cleanliness and safety in assigned work area and performs all duties in compliance with Six Flags safety guidelines and requirements and reports all unsafe or unusual conditions to supervisor.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
License or Certification: Must meet location-specific requirements to work on specific rides and attractions. State or provincial certifications and/or licensing within if applicable in state. Valid driver's license. Welding certification preferred.
Experience: Typically requires 4-6 years mechanical maintenance experience, including at least 2 years working on rides.

Essential Functions
Inspect, diagnose, rebuild, replace, or repair vehicle parts such as engines, brakes, transmission lines, electrical assemblies, and accessories. Tighten bolts and screws and reassemble equipment and vehicle's repaired, ensuring they are safe and in good working condition.
Drive vehicle to test brakes or align wheels.
Perform tune-ups, oil changes, and other routine preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment, replacing common parts and making adjustments.
Lookup and understand the manufacturer's specifications, technical bulletins, service or repair manuals. Follow vehicle repair procedures.
Report discrepancies and safety hazards on all vehicles and properties on the appropriate forms.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to work independently over long periods of time and in groups within the scope of established rules and regulations.
Ability to apply knowledge in multiple areas of vehicle repair.
Ability to drive a trolley or conch train in a safe, competent manner on busy public streets and company property.
Ability to determine the type of tool and equipment needed to do the job.
Ability to watch gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent preferred
Completion of an automotive training program
Vocational of technical school preferred
ASE Certifications preferred: Auto Brakes and Preventative Maintenance Inspection
Valid FL Class C or higher CDL with passenger endorsement (Will train to acquire a CDL. Must obtain a CDL in a first month of employment)
Acceptable driving record for the past three years
Other Requirements
Must pass pre-employment background check and substance abuse testing
Valid DOT physical required
Must supply own hand tools and toolboxes. Tools must meet or exceed minimum tool list.
