The goal of City Walk BHAM is to provide a space to assist in reconnecting Birmingham and create a destination and common area open to all citizens. City Walk BHAM spans 10 city blocks, from 15th St N to 25th St N - almost a mile in length. The entire area encompasses 31 acres, which will provide a space to assist in connecting Birmingham. Summary/Objective The Public Safety Ambassador at CityWalk BHM (CWB), will play a vital role in maintaining safety and security within CityWalk at the BJCC by patrolling the area in a visible manner, protecting and preserving the environment within CWB by enforcing rules, educating visitors, conducting patrols, providing visitor services like tours and information, and responding to emergencies, all while ensuring the safety and enjoyment of CWB guests; essentially acting as a steward of CWB and a frontline representative to the public. Afognak Diversified Services, Inc a subsidiary of Afognak Native Corporation has opportunities for part-time Armed Security Officers. The Armed Security Officer includes but is not limited to a variety of security related duties. Responding to a variety of calls/incidents, secures/safeguards specific scenes, perform crowd control as required. Performs personnel, vehicular, and building facility inspections; as well as First Aid and CPR as required. Completes all required reports, forms, and other established procedures via electronic security application. Safely maintains and qualifies with assigned weapons, maintains uniform and grooming standards in accordance with company policies. Operates patrol vehicle in a safe manner, conducts flag protocols, safeguards all assets, provides motorist assistance and escort persons and equipment as needed. Conducts other assignments in accordance with established SOP's. Must be familiar with various Security systems such as: CCTV's, access control, emergency notification systems, and mobile security applications. Responds to a variety of calls/incidents, secures/safeguards crime scenes, perform crowd control as required, performs personnel, vehicular and building facility checks, First Aid and CPR as required, and completes all required reports, forms, and other documentation IAW established procedures. Enforce regulations designed to prevent security breaches. Staffs post continuously and provide access control; deters/reports unauthorized personnel or vehicular entry, directs traffic and provides information to visitors, and screens packages Safely maintains and qualifies with assigned weapon, maintains uniform and grooming standards IAW company policies, operates patrol vehicle in a safe manner Conducts flag protocols Safeguards all assets, provide motorist assistance and escort persons and equipment Conducts any other assignments in accordance with established SOP's Familiar with Security systems including CCTV and mobile security applications Pay rate: $17.50 to $20.50 hourly Requirements Must be at least 21 years of age. High School diploma or GED Flexible to work various shifts, to include weekends and Holidays Must successfully complete a pre-employment physical exam and drug screen Must successfully complete a pre-employment Physical Readiness Test Must possess and maintain state required Armed Security Officer licensing Must possess and maintain state required Concealed Carry Permit (where applicable) Current Operator's permit. (Driver's License) Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work with little supervision
