Lead Shop Technician - Porsche Track Experience Laguna Seca
The Porsche Track Experience at Weathertech Raceway Laguna Seca is building its vehicle service and event logistics team. We are looking for a Lead Shop Technician with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience. We will consider applicants with less experience who are highly motivated or possess Porsche Certification. Must meet minimum age requirements (21+) as established by our insurance carrier for vehicle operation.
Porsche Track Experience (PTX) events are managed and facilitated by Purner & Associates (JP2, LLC). The Lead Shop Technician is an employee of Purner & Associates who is a contractor for Porsche Cars North America (PCNA). The position is full-time and located at the Porsche Track Experience at Weathertech Raceway Laguna Seca. This position offers a competitive compensation and benefits package. Responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to:
· Oversee all activities in the shop including a staff of 3 technicians
· Perform light maintenance on our fleet of Porsche vehicles and other support vehicles
· Tire mounting and balancing
· Install brake pads and rotors
· Refurbish vehicle inventory before shipment to auction
· Diagnose and provide quality vehicle repairs to prescribed specifications
· Accurately and clearly document findings and steps taken in Repair Orders
· Maintain a very clean and organized work area - must meet Porsche standards
· Assist with set up and tear down of track and exercise modules
· Demonstrate behaviors consistent with the company's vision and core values in all interactions with customers, co-workers, managers and suppliers.

Transmission Technician Responsibilities
Receive repair orders from dispatcher/Advisor and take to the stall area.
Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repairs.
Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts.
Save and tag parts if the job is under warranty or if requested by the customer.
Examine the vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required.
Notify service advisor immediately if additional work outlined is not needed or required.
Notify service advisor immediately if repairs cannot be completed within the time promised.
Road-test vehicles when required or refer to the test technician, keeping in mind that the customer vehicle should not be used for personal errands.
Supervise work of any apprentice technicians as assigned.
Keep shop area clean and be able to account for all dealership-owned tools at all times.
Understand and follow federal, state and local regulations, such as those governing the disposal of hazardous wastes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
Diagnoses cause of any malfunction and performs repair.
Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.
Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.
Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
Communicates with service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
Road tests vehicles when required or refers to the test technician.
Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools and events.
Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
Supervises work of any apprentice technicians as assigned.
Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
Ensures that customers' cars are kept clean. Notifies service advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
Keeps shop area neat and clean.
Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as they were received.
Understands, keeps abreast of and complies with federal, state and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know etc.
Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
Reports any safety issues immediately to management.
Other tasks as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Must have at least 1 year of experience as an auto technician
ASE Certification a plus
Have knowledge in all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance
Have excellent customer service skills
Are a team player
Should be able to operate electronic diagnostic equipment

As our Journeyman Auto Technician, you'll enjoy a competitive pay rate of $40 - $80 per hour. But that's not all! Job SummaryThe Fluid Services Technician is responsible for all fluid services including oil change, transmission, differential, cooling system maintenance and additional services including wiper blades and filter replacement). He/she communicates with customers, educating them on necessary preventive vehicle maintenance. Additional duties may include courtesy services, and tire repair and replacement services.Responsibilities
Performing upper bay and lower bay oil change and inspection functions
Explaining SpeeDee programs, services and pricing structure in order to achieve high customer satisfaction and increased revenues
Attending training sessions that are applicable to the career path and position requirements
Performing preventive maintenance on fluid services equipment
Following appropriate safety procedures and notifying the Shop Manager of safety hazards or needed equipment repairs
Requirements

Other Duties and ResponsibilitiesIn addition to the duties listed above, every crew member is responsible for general center maintenance and cleaning duties such as mopping, washing center windows and clearing litter. Environment: Frequent exposure to outside weather elements, noise, and vehicle exhaust fumes throughout the entire shift.
Physical Activities: Position requires good corrected vision, hearing, frequent standing, walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, handling, reaching, and lifting.
