The 40 bed Pre/Post unit will admit and prepare patients/families for surgical procedures including: Cardiac Procedures (TEE, catheterization, EP), Robotic Surgery (gynecology, urology, abdominal surgery), Vascular Surgery, Cardiac Surgery (adult and pediatric)
IMC experience preferred. Critical Care or PACU experience is strongly preferred.

* License/Certifications: Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Maine. Certification in relevant specialty preferred.
* Experience: At least 1 year prior RN work experience. IMC experience preferred. Critical Care or PACU experience is strongly preferred.
* Basic knowledge of the research base, theory, practices, principles, and processes of professional nursing.
* Interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
* Analytical ability sufficient to identify changes in patients' conditions and to initiate appropriate action.

Summary:
The RegisteredNurse II - Acute Care - MMC BID SAN role is responsible for the management of patient care, including clinical nursing practice/caring, leadership, management, professionalism, and growth/development, as well as the independent assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
* Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required; BSN preferred.
* License/Certifications: Current applicable state(s) license as a Registered Professional Nurse required. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. ICU, SCU, ED and PACU RN's require ACLS and PALS Certifications within one year of start date or in accordance with Department guidelines. OB, NICU RN's require NRP Certification within one year of start date or in accordance with Department guidelines.
* Experience: One year of RN experience required. Demonstrates competency in all essential functions of a RegisteredNurse - Acute Care role.
