The Maintenance Worker I/PT is responsible for manual tasks which do not require high degree of manipulative skill. Work is usually performed under immediate supervision although work assignments which are repetitive in nature once learned can be carried on without difficulty under only general supervision. Understanding of Plumbing, mechanical, HVAC, electrical, security, and related facility systems and components. Knowledge of maintenance processes and methods. Education The position requires the following educational experience: High School Diploma or Equivalent. Work Environment Work is performed primarily inside a retail store and an outdoor environment. This position maintains, repairs and installs water treatment plant equipment, machinery and related facilities; maintains a variety of records; participates in special projects; and performs a variety of technical tasks related to assigned areas of responsibility. Plant Maintenance Technician performs skilled and semi-skilled maintenance, repair and installation activities independently. Employees at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies for the work to be performed.
