A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A BUILDING MAINTENACE ASSISTANT As a Building Maintenance Assistant, you spend your day maintaining repairs and general maintenance of city buildings, follow work schedule as assigned, including and related custodial chores as needed. Perform light maintenance and repairs using ladders and changing light bulbs, and report any safety hazards and damages in City buildings. Your job is essential to the city, and you assist by securing buildings after working hours or as required, and assist in setting up for and breaking down decorations and equipment for special events. You are constantly on your toes and ready for any new and unexpected challenges that may arise in the city. This can include repairing wood surfaces, paint structures or areas, remove and replace defective electrical switches and other fixtures. When you aren't assisting with custodial work you assist on projects in compliance with all City, State, and safety codes. You enjoy being helpful and have no problem providing assistance and support to other divisions within the department as needed. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A BUILDING MAINTENACE ASSISTANT As a Building Maintenance Assistant, you spend your day maintaining repairs and general maintenance of city buildings, follow work schedule as assigned, including and related custodial chores as needed. Perform light maintenance and repairs using ladders and changing light bulbs, and report any safety hazards and damages in City buildings. Your job is essential to the city, and you assist by securing buildings after working hours or as required, and assist in setting up for and breaking down decorations and equipment for special events. You are constantly on your toes and ready for any new and unexpected challenges that may arise in the city. This can include repairing wood surfaces, paint structures or areas, remove and replace defective electrical switches and other fixtures. When you aren't assisting with custodial work you assist on projects in compliance with all City, State, and safety codes. You enjoy being helpful and have no problem providing assistance and support to other divisions within the department as needed. The city needs someone like you with skills in customer service, custodial materials, and you find genuine enjoyment in what you do!
