    This position is with the Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space department.This is a part-time position, not to exceed 1,039 hours per fiscal year, July 1 through June 30. Under general supervision, performs a variety of custodial duties related to facility cleaning and maintenance. This recruitment is open on a continuous basis. Examples of Duties This class specification lists the major duties and requirements of the job and is not all-inclusive. Incumbent(s) may be expected to perform job-related duties other than those contained in this document and may be required to have specific job-related knowledge and skills. * This position may require working non-traditional shift hours, which may include early morning, afternoon, evening, late night, or swing shift. * Availability to work on call, evenings, and weekends is required. * Moves and arranges furniture and A/V equipment to set up rooms for meetings and special functions. * Cleaning and sanitizing of hard floors, under bleachers, facility restrooms, auditorium floors, seats, windows, fixtures, mirrors and carpets. Empties trash and stocks supplies, etc. * Operation of cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor machines, buffers and carpet extractors. * Removes litter and debris from facility walkways and grounds. * Supervision and securing of facility. * Uses standard office equipment, including a computer, in the course of work; drives City vehicles to work sites, transports materials and assists other staff as required. * Provides customer service. * Demonstrates courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with contractors, public and City staff; acts in a manner that promotes a harmonious and effective workplace environment. Typical Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and Experience: * Equivalent to a High School education or GED * Professional cleaning experience is helpful * Hospitality industry experience is helpful Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: Varies by Department. All required licenses and certifications must be maintained in active status without suspension or revocation throughout employment. Public Works Department: * None Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Department: * Crowd Manager Certification - within 15 days of hire * CPR/First Aid Certification - within 6 months of hire * Mandated Reporting: Recognizing Child Abuse and Neglect Special Note: This position, along with other child care providers, are one of many groups of professionals required to report known or reasonable suspicion of abuse and/or neglect of children in their care and are considered mandated reporters as outlined in Nevada Revised Statutes.
