RESPONSIBILITIES
Participation in all maintenance projects and training classes as directed.
Perform minor electrical repairs on items such as appliances, fixtures, switches and outlets, etc.
Perform minor plumbing work, such as clearing drain stoppages, replacing fittings and faucets, etc.
Replace broken tile, screens, garbage disposals, fixtures, appliances, blinds, and locks.
Paint, interior and exterior as directed.
Perform minor carpentry work, such as assisting in fitting doors, sticking windows, replacing and building shelves, sanding and refinishing doors.
Assist in custodial work, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, emptying trash, cleaning windows in all common areas.
Assist in grounds work as directed.

Contribute to the team effort by being aware of and relaying information regarding the apartment community's general appearance and conditions.
Possess knowledge regarding water and gas meter shutoffs, all apartment and fixture shutoffs, and sewer cleanouts.
Ensure storage areas and entrances are locked as required throughout all common areas of property.
Assist in apartment check-in and check-out inspections as directed.
Must be conscious of a safe work environment.
Must possess a valid California Driver's License and automobile insurance in order to drive for business purposes or have reliable transportation.
Must attend company sponsored events that relate to the development of the team, which, from time to time, may include overnight stay at locations away from the employee's home.

A Water Maintenance Technician is a skilled/journey level class in the Public Works Water Distribution, Treatment and Maintenance Mechanical series. General operation and maintenance of Domestic/Irrigation Water Systems. Monitors, operates and maintains the automatic chlorinators and performs water quality sampling to ensure safe, clean potable water for the community. This position requires a motivated field maintenance technician to have a working knowledge of proper water works plumbing methods and techniques; cuts, fits, welds, lays and repairs water mains; cleans and flushes water mains, valves, and hydrants. Working knowledge of light and some heavy equipment operating principles, practices and procedures. Must be available to respond to emergency “call outs” at any time of day, year-round, regardless of weather conditions. A large percentage of the position is fieldwork.
DUTIES AND RESPONISBILITIES
Although other duties may be assigned, the essential duties include the following:
To ensure safe and quality drinking water supply to all customers.
To provide adequate amounts of water, under pressure sufficient to meet all demands.
To participate in all aspects of the operation and maintenance of Soboba's domestic water system as well as portions of Soboba's agricultural and industrial water systems.
Install, repair and maintain water lines; disconnect service lines; install and remove fire hydrants; lay underground pipe; cutting & welding of steel pipe; install and repairs valves. Maintain and repair of sewer/leach lines is preferred.
Operate SCADA Systems.
Utility line locating experience
Ability to operate and maintain valves, pumps, wells, hydrants, booster stations, reservoirs and related equipment.
Skillfully and safely operate heavy equipment such as backhoe, skip loader and vactor truck when required in the course of performing work duties.
Daily monitoring of the chemical feed pumps, solutions barrels and feed system in general will be mandatory.
EDUCATION
High School Diploma or Equivalent

About the Venue
Our goal is to prepare this one-of-a-kind community facility for its “Next Act” by replacing or restoring most systems, installing new seats, sound, and lighting, adapting the structure to meet current ADA requirements, and providing the theatre with modern facilities needed to provide Palm Springs and the Valley with a venue accessible and affordable for everyone. Exciting new developments include: SAVE, RESTORE, REOPEN
When we began this project, our ‘slogan' was “Help Save the Plaza Theatre” but now that the restoration is in progress, we're focusing on the finish line, and are now saying “Help REOPEN the Plaza Theatre.” The restoration project is well underway. Woodcliff Construction of Los Angeles has been working on comprehensive renovation of the historic building since March, 2024. The restoration work will take approximately one year to complete, allowing the Plaza Theatre to open in late 2025.
The Plaza Theatre will once again become a major economic driver for the City, generating millions in economic activity by bringing hundreds of visitors and locals per week to the downtown to see quality entertainment. The Foundation has partnered with Oak View Group to bring diverse high-quality programming. When restored, the Plaza Theatre will be the only place available for the entire community to come together and utilize it as an affordable community venue showcasing diverse programming for all people, local youth organizations, promoting multicultural programming in film, music, live theater, education, comedy, and entertainment for all.
