The person in this position will perform general grounds work including but not limited to mowing, weeding, trimming, cleanup, street/parking lot sweeping, tree and shrub trimming. They will operate, repair and maintain mowing machines, trimmers, edgers, tractors, and other grounds equipment. They will operate, maintain, and repair sprinkler systems, underground piping systems, pumps and controllers; and perform other job related duties as assigned. Ensures high quality and safety standards are met. * Demonstrates expertise with the maintenance requirement of plant processing, production and seasonal operations through a thorough and continuing evaluation of production, processing and seasonal requirements, techniques, procedures, facilities and equipment. * Maintains constant contact with production and processing operators and supervision to obtain maximum machine uptime. * Train other mechanics in the proper set-up, adjustment, and maintenance of production, processing and seasonal support equipment and supervise them to accomplish maintenance requirements. * Executes preventive maintenance programs and suggests modifications to the Plant Engineer for approval. * Recommends and initiates changes to improve equipment operating performance and performs job estimates. * Assures that maintenance operations are carried out within established housekeeping and sanitation procedures, and applicable government regulations. * Participates in all regular meetings as scheduled. * Other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS: * Demonstrated ability to safely work on and around complex, highly automated machinery in a non-temperature regulated environment. * Strong troubleshooting, verbal and written communication skills to effectively present to other maintenance supervisors technicians, and operators. * Cross-functional demonstrated skills in Electrical, PLC, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Motors, motion control, and mechanical systems. * Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma a plus. * Proactive and able to work independently * Able to work all shifts in a 24x 7 operation MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * A minimum of three (3) years of hands-on experience in machine maintenance and repair is required, specifically within a food or beverage manufacturing environment. Clean and turnover vacant apartments to include all actions necessary to make the apartment rent-ready for the next tenant within 5-10 days. * 8. Schedule and conduct pre- move out inspections and reporting. Accurately cost out any repairs that may be needed and supply an estimate for expected cost to the resident for completion. * 9. Regularly check smoke detectors to ensure proper operation, change appliance filters, check air handlers, and perform other inspections when directed or required. 10.
