Job Summary and Responsibilities
Assists with the flow of surgical instrumentation between processing and surgery
Reads OR schedule, anticipates needs and sets-up OR with required supplies and equipment, for respective case(s).
Checks inventory, disassembles, cleans, reassembles, and maintains supplies and equipment.
Cleans and prepares instrumentation for “to follow” case in accordance with correct processing guidelines.
Checks dates and sterility of supplies.
Assists in maintaining a clean, sanitary and orderly OR environment.
Checks OR suites for adequate furniture, supplies and equipment, restocking as necessary; removes excess equipment and returns to appropriate location; may assist in monitoring pre- and/or post-operative areas for cleanliness.
Performs turnover duties in the OR suite between case room cleaning; provides proper bed or stretcher for each patient post-operatively; may take trash/linen to the appropriate utility room.
Transports blood or specimens to/from perioperative area and laboratory.
Checks daily portable oxygen tanks used during transport and replaces if necessary.
Assures storage of unused oxygen tanks in appropriate storage area.
Prepares linen packets and surgery beds; empties refuse containers and dispose in soiled utility room; maintains cleaning logs to ensure scheduled duties are performed in a timely manner.
Assists with patients, to include transporting and assisting with lifting, turning, positioning and preparing patients for surgical procedures.
Uses proper body mechanics appropriate to repetitive relief measures and static posture relief measures.
Transports non-monitored patients to and from nursing units and ancillary departments in a manner conductive to patient safety and comfort.
Job Requirements
One year of related work experience in an acute care hospital that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities.
Licensure/Certification:
Current healthcare provider BLS Certification.
Preferred:
Post-high school training specific to health care (i.e., central processing, health care assistant).

As our Environmental Services Technician, you'll keep our patient rooms and all areas of the hospital clean and sanitized. This protects everyone from potential illness or injury due to infectious diseases or other hazards.
Every day, you will perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, or dusting. You will also use specialized equipment and techniques to further sanitize our facility.
