Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Archbold, Ohio . In this role, you will support various aspects of accounting and financial reporting, working closely with finance department managers to ensure accurate and timely processing of transactions. This position provides an excellent opportunity to gain experience in areas such as imports accounting , fixed assets, tax compliance, payroll, treasury operations, and general ledger reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Reconcile bank statements with wire payments and ensure accurate posting of transactions.
- Analyze general ledger accounts related to imports, including samples, air freight, product testing, and quality control services.
- Track and record direct import shipments and sales while auditing monthly reports from international divisions.
- Prepare fixed asset records, monitor depreciation, and manage asset acquisitions and disposals.
- Assist with state sales tax filings, income tax return information requests, and insurance renewal documentation.
- Create payroll journal entries, manage payroll-related accruals, and perform administrative payroll tasks.
- Support treasury operations by handling lockbox activities, preparing monthly credit metrics, and assisting with weekly cash forecasts.
- Perform general ledger entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
- Analyze financial data detailing assets, liabilities, and capital to assist in accurate reporting.
- Coordinate with external auditors by providing requested documentation and analysis. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited institution.
- 0-3 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software such as SAP.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Certification in progress, such as CPA, is preferred.
- Experience with Crystal Reporting is a plus.
