Full job description
Plumbing/Heating Project Manager for a well-established mid-sized jobbing and alteration plumbing shop located in Manhattan.
Requirements:
They must have 10 years of experience as a super or foreman
Must be able to read estimates and manage a crew to get the plumbing work done
Oversee work ranging from $5K up to $5 million
Understand the change order process and be able to create and obtain them
Manage the project according to a fixed schedule and make sure they are in and out on time
Confirm actual conditions of project by conducting site surveys
Maintain positive subcontractor relationships
Work directly with the estimator to ensure the project is being completed per the scope
They must be articulate, presentable, be able to attend meetings with clients, have great communication skills and their temperament is VERY important
They must work well with subcontractors and be able to interface with architects and engineers; part of their job also involves getting the plumbers and
mechanics out to their jobsites on time
Most importantly, the candidate MUST have a knowledge of plumbing, know how to estimate and good communication skills

Marine pipefitters are assigned to remove, repair, target, layout, fabricate, install and test marine piping systems onboard ships in various stages of repair and modernization.
Installs different types of sizes of pipe and related materials and equipment, such as supports, hangers, and hydraulic cylinders, according to specifications.
Plans installation or repair to avoid obstructions and to avoid interfering with activities of other workers.
Repair and replacement of ships piping systems such as auxiliary salt water, fire main, potable water, hydraulic, compressed air, fuel oil, lube oil, engine exhaust, and more.
Necessary fabrication abilities include the use of various shop equipment such as table saws, pipe threading machines, bending machines (power as well as hand operated), drill presses and brazing equipment.
Bends, cuts, threads, shapes, fabricates, and installs pipe according to job specifications.
Conducts pressure test of piping installations. Checks and adjusts controls, gauges, and valves to achieve control of flow or pressure.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Candidate Requirements:
Must have 5+ years of recent experience working in a shipyard as a pipefitter.
Must be able to pass all administered tests prior to being hired for the position.
Experience fitting carbon steel, stainless steel, and copper nickel pipe.
Must possess a good general knowledge of ship repair procedures and test requirements.
Must be able to comprehend instructions, drawings, and general correspondence.
Must be able to read blueprints.
Must have a working knowledge of ship repair terminology and ship compartment naming convention.
Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
Must be physically and medically capable to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) required for the job as prescribed under OSHA standards. PPE may include hard hat, safety glasses, steel toe shoes, goggles, respirator, safety harness, safety line, flotation gear, etc.

20. Performs all assigned work activities in accordance with standard procedures and protocols established by the department and District, and in accordance with applicable standards, procedures, protocols, practices, codes, and requirements as set forth by regulations and governing entities including, without limitation, Texas Education Agency, Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) regarding work and electrical safety standards and regulations, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations related to the safe disposal of waste, management of hazardous materials, and water quality standards, building and plumbing codes, and Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent GED
Five years of experience working in a same or similar capacity within the plumbing trade
Active, Valid, In Good Standing, and Duly Obtained Master Plumber Texas licensure
Active, Valid, and In Good Standing Texas Driver's License

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position requires prolonged periods of standing and walking, along with frequent climbing, lifting, carrying, and/or moving objects of up to 50lbs, balancing, stooping, and extensive use of arms and legs for full-body movement. Tasks regularly require the manipulation, installation, and positioning of materials using hands and arms. The work environment alternates between climate-controlled areas and settings without climate control with exposure to diverse and potentially extreme conditions including, without limitation, fluctuating temperatures, dust, fumes, vapors, odors, as well as chemical, mechanical, and electrical hazards, bright light and UV radiation produced by welding. This position requires the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and will frequently operate a motor vehicle on public roadways to commute to different locations, as assigned, within the District.

YOUR ROLE AS A PLUMBING INSTALLER:
Your typical schedule will be 8 AM to 5 PM, with the potential for overtime. You can expect to work approximately 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, although the schedule is not guaranteed. Weekend work may also be required based on customer needs.
As a Plumbing Installer, you play a vital role in ensuring customers' homes are safe and functional. Your day starts with preparing your equipment for service calls. You respond to various requests, performing installations and repairs, from toilet and faucet replacements to water heater installations. You conduct thorough inspections and diagnostics to identify issues and provide effective solutions while adhering to all compliance standards. You offer clear cost estimates and communicate professionally with customers about repairs and solutions, representing Roto-Rooter with excellence. Additionally, you document every service call and repair accurately using Service Titan.
