Overview of Role:
The Maintenance Technician II will be based in the steel mill, where they will perform a variety of maintenance tasks with a strong focus on electrical systems and equipment. This role requires advanced troubleshooting and repair skills related to electrical components, along with working knowledge of mechanical systems. The technician will support the safe and efficient operation of heavy industrial equipment in a high-demand production environment. Welding, mechanical skills, electrical is a plus.
This mid-level position requires the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing electrical issues, performing preventive maintenance, and supporting larger electrical and mechanical maintenance projects.

The Field Technician III will provide support to all assigned locations, including data centers and Points of Presence (POPs), and physical site services. Your Roles and Responsibilities:
Maintain the highest quality standards in all assigned data center locations and remote points of presence (POP).

Perform card adds or replacements, software upgrades, and associated testing.
Recommend improvements to processes that may impact the quality of our network assets or improve overall efficiencies for any related process or system.

Perform site audits and reconcile data discrepancies in coordination with Network Surveillance and other groups as necessary.

In this role, you are responsible for performing preventative maintenance, repairing equipment used in production (conveyor lines, lighting, motors, air compressors, stretch wrappers, carton erectors, heat tunnels, etc.) as well as repairing any facility infrastructure (plumbing systems, HVAC systems, electrical systems, racking systems, etc.).
What we're looking for (Key Performance Objectives):
* Complete and record routine inspections of all key equipment and infrastructure (conveyors, HVAC, racking, etc.) within your first 60 days.
* Demonstrate the ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve tier 1 facilities tickets (plumbing, electrical, HVAC) from office and warehouse staff within your first 45 days.
* Meet with top vendors to coordinate maintenance and repair plans within first 90 days.
* Identify and implement at least 3 preventative maintenance opportunities within first 6 months on production equipment, infrastructure, or conveyance equipment.
* Collaborate with operations leadership to specify, assist, and execute installation for production floor improvement projects within your first 6 months.
* Actively support the rollout and adoption of the new CMMS asset management system, ensuring accurate asset data and maintenance scheduling within your first 12 months.
Requirements/Preferences:
* Minimum of 10 years of demonstrated facilities maintenance mechanic experience in warehousing environments
* Overall knowledge of facilities operations such as plumbing, electrical, security, and HVAC
* Overall knowledge of packaging/warehousing equipment such as stretch wrappers, conveyors, motors, carton erectors, tapers, heat tunnels, void fill machines, and balers
* Understanding and familiarity with building codes and safety regulations
* Able to meet multiple, challenging deadlines and work within budgets
* Ability to safely work from a scissor lift, ladder or other elevating equipment
* Basic computer skills
* Excellent at solving problems creatively and/or knowing when to seek help
* Able to effectively communicate with key stakeholders including colleagues, executive team, vendors, and customers
* Minimum of 5 years of experience working with warehouse equipment
* Knowledge of how to read blueprints and wiring diagrams

Job Purpose:

Essential Functions:
Perform various activities relative to the installation, removal and relocation of automated and robotic equipment which may involve mechanical, electrical/electronic components, instrumentation and programming. Plan layouts of wiring or piping and installs piping, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, wiring, conduit, track and rails, and electrical apparatus on robotic or automated equipment. Requirements
Education/Experience:
Must have AS degree in electronics or computers with experience in automated/robotic technology or equivalent work experience. An Electrical Engineering degree a plus.
Physical:
Must be able to stand/walk for 8 hours or more per day and work from ladder/man-lift.
Must be able to use both hands to finger, handle, feel and reach.
Must be able to frequently lift/ move up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift/move up to 100 lbs.
