RESPONSIBILITIES (PRIMARY)

* Greetings should be polite, friendly and professional. Thank the guests for choosing to join us and ask the guests if they have visited before. This will let you know if more time should be taken to familiarize the guest with the menu or if you can jump to specific tasks such as mentioning specials, suggesting starters and requesting a beverage order.

Finishing the Table
* When it appears that some of the guests are finishing, ask if they would like their empty plates removed.
* If food remains, leave the plate unless they push it away.
* If food remains but they are finished, ask if they would like to go packaging.
* As you clear, offer coffee or other drinks.
* Bring a menu for desserts and point out the selections.
* If nothing else is desired, immediately review the written orders and verify all items have been recorded, print the check and leave it at the table, saying you will take it when they are ready.
* Watch for payment to be presented, pick up, process and return quickly.
* When the payment is picked up, thank the guest for coming in and that you hope they will visit again soon.
* If payment is made in cash, return change in a mixture of bills that the guest may use for a gratuity if desired. For example, if the change is $10.30, return a five, five ones and the silver. Do not ever ask if change is desired, return it so all decisions are up to the guest. You may choose to round pennies up, never round down.
* If a card is used, and you know whose card is used, it is a nice touch to thank the guest who pays by name when you return the card and payment slip.

The Food Server is the primary guest care provider. Servers will greet guests, answer questions, take food and beverage orders, deliver completed items, do 2-minute check backs and present accurate guests checks, collect and process payments. Although support staff may be scheduled to assist, primary responsibility for the entire guest experience after seating and up to departure falls to the server.
RESPONSIBILITIES (PRIMARY)
Welcoming Guests
Within 1 minute of seating, visit the table to acknowledge new guests. This should be done in person but if delayed, either make eye contact and smile to convey recognition or ask another employee to greet you.
Greetings should be polite, friendly and professional. Thank the guests for choosing to join us and ask the guests if they have visited before. This will let you know if more time should be taken to familiarize the guest with the menu or if you can jump to specific tasks such as mentioning specials, suggesting starters and requesting a beverage order.

Finishing the Table
When it appears that some of the guests are finishing, ask if they would like their empty plates removed.
If food remains, leave the plate unless they push it away.
If food remains but they are finished, ask if they would like to go packaging.
As you clear, offer coffee or other drinks.
Bring a menu for desserts and point out the selections.
If nothing else is desired, immediately review the written orders and verify all items have been recorded, print the check and leave it at the table, saying you will take it when they are ready.
Watch for payment to be presented, pick up, process and return quickly.
When the payment is picked up, thank the guest for coming in and that you hope they will visit again soon.
If payment is made in cash, return change in a mixture of bills that the guest may use for a gratuity if desired. For example, if the change is $10.30, return a five, five ones and the silver. Do not ever ask if change is desired, return it so all decisions are up to the guest. You may choose to round pennies up, never round down.
If a card is used, and you know whose card is used, it is a nice touch to thank the guest who pays by name when you return the card and payment slip.

The Role:
As a bartender, you love a fast-paced environment and shaking up cocktails is your specialty. In your downtime, you enjoy connecting with your bar guests and making a lasting impression.
What we will ask of you:
* Create, prepare, garnish, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks consistent with the Restaurant's standard drink recipes while tending to bar patrons
* Receive orders and serve food to guests dining at the bar
* Maintain bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner and assist the restocking and replenishment of bar inventory and supplies in addition to required side work
* Always remain educated on our menu offerings and respond promptly to any requests or questions about our menus, dietary restrictions and other restaurant functions and services
* Prepare and present final bill, process payment, and report all gratuities received to comply with the IRS standards of reporting income
Requirements for Success:
* Be 21 years of age or older with 1-2 years of prior bartending experience
* Have a positive energy, be ready to assist fellow support staff and work as a team player
* Ability to communicate effectively with managers, employees, and all guests
* A flexible schedule to work days, nights, weekends and holidays
* Constant standing/walking with occasional stooping, kneeling, pushing, pulling, or lifting

Job Description
Reports To: Beverage Manager, Food & Beverage Director
General Purpose: The Bartender provides timely, accurate and friendly service while preparing the highest quality beverages for each guest.
Specific Responsibilities:
Follows all steps of service.
Provides superior service behind the bar by preparing drinks according to recipe standards.
Knows drink names, ingredients, method of preparation, appropriate glassware, and garnishes.
Knows all wines by the glass and at least five wines in each category on the wine list in varying price ranges and styles.
Knows specialty beverages, i.e., single malt scotches, cognacs, specialty drinks, and beer lists.
Knows all menu descriptions of the bar menu and dining room menu.
Ensures all stock is up to par levels.
Completes daily inventory and informs servers/managers/bar back of any changes.
Verifies all guests are at least 21 years of age.
Provides prompt, accurate report of all income received during shift.
Sells beverages responsibly with the customer's best interest in mind.
Maintains smooth flow of service between bar and server requests.
Completes all side work as outlined in the manual.
Reports to work on time and ready to work scheduled shifts.
Maintains a positive, friendly attitude with co-workers and guests.
Maintains a clean, orderly appearance in the restaurant service area.
Assists with/executes any tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Follows all proper sanitation guidelines.
