* Supporting Metrics: Reduction of machine faults/ Improved OEE/ Improved Planned Maintenance activities/ Reduction of labor and material costs/ Improved product quality through a robust error-proofing process/ Improved ergonomics and safety at work-stations/ Extended useful life of equipment/ Reduction in set-up and change-over times/ Increased percentage of Planned Maintenance/ Reduced equipment life-cycle costs/ Elimination of conditions for accidents.
Engineer II responsibilities are:
* Work with a "Safety Always" mindset through supporting and promoting continuous improvement of safety and health in the workplace
* Perform all duties with a "Quality First" mindset through improvement of work processes and procedures to eliminate and prevent defects
* Maintain a "big picture" focus and understanding of the complete tire manufacturing process
* Establish good rapport and build working relationships and networks with peers, technicians and other employees to develop a strong network/ support base
* Develop and maintain effective working relationships with suppliers and other third parties
* Remain current with professional practices and maintain a high awareness of new products and procedures in the industry. Monitor trade publications and actively participate in professional organizations
* Communicate information timely and clearly
* Support the designation of serial numbers for components, placement of orders and record-keeping of purchases in SAP to ensure required inventory levels
* Create Consultation Forms accurately and timely with minimal assistance
* Mentor assistant engineers and lead proposal development, contract documentation and other activities as required
* Execute a working pattern where all work activities and plans are "audit ready"
* Maintain a flexible personal work schedule as Tp is a 24/7 operation to ensure necessary work is completed to meet required deadlines through taking ownership in your area of responsibility
* Perform routine and intermediate duties requiring application and knowledge of engineering principles
* Prepare simple, routine, and intermediate plans, calculations and cost estimates by following standard engineering practices and procedures
* Interpret engineering specifications and solve routine and intermediate problems by applying defined procedures with proven precedent
* Systematically identify causes of problems and identify possible solutions in a Plan - Do - Check - Act methodology
* Research, learn, and drive introduction of enhanced maintenance techniques
* Drive cooperation between operators and maintenance staff to support equipment up-time objectives
* Engage in the implementation and improvement of Planned Maintenance activities and schedules to reduce costs
* Engage in the definition and application of efficient, sustainable cleaning, inspection, lubrication and re-tightening cycles (5S)
* Engage in activities related to improving equipment uptime, e.g. MTBF, MTTR, through application of know-how and skills and using Fault Analysis tools
* Engage in the restoration and maintenance of basic equipment conditions through analysis to stop deterioration
* Engage in Value Stream Mapping activities to identify NVA and eliminate redundancy and waste
* Perform other duties as assigned by management
Engineer II requirements are:
Education:
* (Required) bachelor's degree; mechanical/ electrical/ industrial or other engineering major
* (Preferred) advanced degree in a related field
Experience:
* (Required) 2+ years of proven engineering experience in the manufacturing industry
Language:
* (Required) good command of written and spoken English

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for maintenance activities that are performed to keep the plant and equipment operating efficiently and effectively.
Troubleshooting, adjusting, installing and replacing AC and DC electrical equipment such as batteries, PC's, fuses, motor starters, relays, switches, timers, servo driven equipment, photo electrical devices, transducers, Variable Frequency Drives (VFD's) and encoders and related.
Inspecting, troubleshooting, installing, repairing, and/or replacing mechanical components such as motors, reducers, drive chains, sprockets, sheaves, pulleys, rollers, conveyor belts, bearings, and tooling components.
Inspecting, troubleshooting, installing, repairing, and/or replacing hydraulic and pneumatic equipment such as lubricators, hoses, FRL's and coils along with hoses, fittings, cylinders, and pumps.
Analyzes and solves electrical and mechanical problems and assists manufacturing personnel on process-related issues.
Welding / Fabrication projects, improves and make repairs to tools, work stations and equipment.
Performs preventative maintenance and establishes new PM activities as needed; utilizes eMaint CMMS system.
Involvement in installation of machinery & equipment as well as plant rearrangements.
Continuous process improvement implementation with respect to Lean Manufacturing principles.
Understands, follows, and implements all safety-related standards and practices.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Technical degree, Journeyman Card / License preferred.
4+ years of industrial manufacturing maintenance experience preferred, preferably in the automotive industry.
Good electrical and mechanical skills, as demonstrated through an aptitude test.
Knowledge of and experience in:
PLC's and Controls.
Hydraulics.
Pneumatics.
Welding and Fabricating.
Ability to write, troubleshoot and edit programs for Allen Bradley PLC's a plus.
Electrical experience and knowledge in 480V 3-phase, 120V, DC voltage, high AMP loads and Delta and Y systems.
Experience with troubleshooting / programming Fanuc & ABB robots.
Must be able to read and interpret CAD mechanical, electrical & pneumatic drawings, blueprints and schematics.
Welding and fabrication experience.
Experience with OSHA safety standards for industrial machinery, local electrical codes and Lock Out Tag Out procedures.
Must be available to work overtime, off-shifts, weekends, holidays and shutdowns when necessary.
Ability to travel when needed.
Fluent in such computer skills/programs as MS Excel, Word, e-mail, data entry, etc.
