The Position
The Mathnasium Instructor is responsible for delivering mathematical instruction to students using the Mathnasium Method. The Instructor is committed to providing exceptional customer service through an expert approach that is personal and prescriptive, attending to each individual student's needs. The Instructor works as part of a team and operates in a team-teaching environment where collaboration and communication ensure all student needs are addressed.
We are hiring for this upcoming school year and are not currently hiring for seasonal or summer only.
The pay range offered is between $13.00 - $17.00 per hour.
Hours will vary between 2:30 PM and 8:00 PM, Monday through Thursday, and 8:30 AM and 1:30 PM on Saturday.
During the summer, hours will vary between 1:30 PM and 8:00 PM, Monday through Thursday.
Must pass a math assessment and background check upon hiring

Position Description
All Content Teachers- facilitates students' development and acquisition of reading comprehension, persuasive and expository writing, creative writing grammar, and vocabulary skills. Under the supervision of the Head of School, the Social Studies Teacher develops a deep conceptual understanding of concepts aligned with New York State Next Generation Learning Standards. The teacher facilitates the successful implementation of a rigorous standards-based curriculum to ensure students master the standards and meet the academic goals and is responsive to the diverse learning needs of all students including general education, students with disabilities, and English Language Learners. The Social Studies teacher works with the school administrators to implement school procedures and policies and communicates with students, parents, guardians, and/or caregivers.
Position Duties and Expectations:
Prepare bi-weekly lesson plans and deliver an academically rigorous course of study aligned to our school's goals, curriculum and the New York State Next Generations Learning Standards
Ensure high levels of student engagement and achievement in accordance with our school's performance benchmarks.
Communicate high academic and behavioral expectations to our scholars
Create a classroom environment conducive to optimizing teaching and learning
Collect, analyze and report student performance data
Actively participate in professional development activities and participate in reflective practice and implement strategies to improve teaching and learning
Maintain a professional appearance and deportment.
Complete all classroom and school assignments and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner.

Compensation and Benefits:

The Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition (FSHN) at the University of Illinois seeks an outstanding expert to fill a 50% position at the Instructor/Lecturer level. This is a 9-month on-campus position, with up to a 2-month summer appointment possible based on departmental needs.
Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Instructor/Lecturer include the following:
* Lead the development, design, and delivery of the online Masters in Clinical and Community Nutrition and explore opportunities for related online programs (e.g. certificate courses and programs, stackable transcriptable programs, etc.).
* Coordinate with DPD and DI Program Directors to ensure a smooth pipeline for students interested in completing these programs in addition to the MS
* Investigate and implement innovative online educational programs, focusing on factors to consider in strategic decisions, timelines for new-program development, and necessary campus processes.
* Work with campus and college support units to develop and implement strategies for program development, market research, recruitment, and marketing.
* Work with department, college, and campus stakeholders on issues related to policies that are associated with educational technologies.
* Maintain current knowledge in new and emerging educational issues at the pedagogical, programmatic, and administrative levels, and advise the department on how it can respond to strategic opportunities in these areas.
* Understand the strategic, operational and technical needs of the online educational program, and guide the development of departmental policies and processes to support these needs.
* Advise non-degree seeking and degree seeking students in online and on-campus programs relative to the non-thesis MS in Clinical and Community Nutrition and non-thesis MS in Human Nutrition.
* Teaching will be expected, commensurate with expertise.
* Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
For Instructor
* Master's degree in a field relevant to this position. Must be completed by January 2026.
For Lecturer
* Ph.D. degree in a field relevant to this position.

* Demonstrated leadership experience.
* Utilizes organization and communication skills effectively.
* Instructional experience in community, clinical, and/or educational settings.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) Credential, MPH, or related credential.
* Program development experience in community, clinical and/or educational settings.
* Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work as a team member.
* Ability to utilize and share instructional best practices.

Salary and Appointment Details:
This is a 50% 9-month (academic year) specialized faculty position at the Instructor/Lecturer level. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity. The budgeted salary range for this position is $30,000 to $35,000. Sponsorship for work authorization is not available for this position.

All Honors students complete the Honors Mindset Seminar as their first Honors Learning Experience in the fall semester to which they have been admitted to the Honors Program. This one credit hour course meets for an hour and a half, once a week, for 16 weeks. Topics include: The Dimensions of Honors Learning, theories and strategies of learning, and goal setting.

$1250/month for a 3 credit hour class with a Bachelors or Masters Degree. $1375/month for a 3 credit hour class with a PhD during Fall and Spring. Summer pay will vary.
