Maintenance/Custodial/Maintenance General Date Available: as soon as possible Additional Information: Show/Hide Primary Functions Performs a variety of installation, maintenance, alteration, replacement, preventive maintenance and repair tasks on various plumbing fixtures, piping (water, waste, drainage and heating) and systems support equipment, including swimming pool and irrigation systems throughout the various facilities. Minimum qualifications This person shall; (1) be a U.S. Citizen, (2) be a vocational, trade or high school graduate, or have completed the G.E.D., (3) possess a valid drivers license and a clean driving record, (4) have the ability to read and write the English language at the 8th grade level, and (5) possess the ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings as they pertain to the particular trade. Must hold CT P1 license for plumbing and S2 license for heating. An F1 or F2 license for fire protection would be a plus. At least five (5) years experience in the plumbing trade and two (2) years experience in the operation, maintenance and repair of low pressure steam and circulating hot water boilers. Must have demonstrable experience in the servicing and maintaining of HVAC equipment, and working knowledge of pneumatic controls, air compressors, and related equipment. Working Conditions Subject to exposure to inadequate light and ventilation. Will be required to wear eye, face, head, hand, foot, hearing and respiratory protection when needed. Will be required to follow all safety procedures at all times. The Board of Education will provide safety equipment required for the safe conduct of the work in accordance with state and federal regulations, town policies and bargaining unit contract.
