About the Role
Responsible for safely performing mechanical repairs, replacing, and/or adjusting heavy industrial equipment such as fans, pumps, gear drives, compressors, etc. Troubleshoot equipment for proper performance and repair, as necessary. Support and participate in the safety, environmental, and quality goals of the plant. This position is part of the Maintenance department reporting directly to the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor.
Based on the results of the Tronox Mechanical Maintenance Skills Test and prior relevant experience, this position offers an hourly rate ranging from $30.76 entry level to $39.13 with a minimum of 5 years of related experience. The successful candidate will be expected to:
* Demonstrate general knowledge and use of hand tools. (Drill presses, band saws, welders, torch use, pipe threading machines and precision measuring instruments.)
* Rebuild, repair, and install all types of rotary equipment such as pumps, fans, valves, filters, gear drives, belt drives
* Retain knowledge of SOPs for the assigned JQR's on tasks associated for all Maintenance progressions
* Must be able to wear a respirator as required for specific jobs
* Work outdoors in all types of weather
* Must be able to read and repair or fabricate from blueprints
* Support the callout program and work overtime as required
* Work swing shift (3p-11p) as required
* Consistently apply and use Outward Mindset Principles and Tools
* Complete all required courses, certifications, and competency tests as assigned.
About You

* High school diploma or equivalent
* Industrial Maintenance Technology Certificate/Associates degree and 1 year of mechanical maintenance experience OR 2 years mechanical maintenance experience in an industrial environment OR 5 years of production experience at Tronox required
* Score 75 or higher on the maintenance skills test
* Professional communication skills
* Excellent human relationship skills
* Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics
* Must be able to physically lift 50 pounds
* Must be able to work from heights and climb stairs and ladders
* Strong understanding of general maintenance processes and methods
* Internal candidates must have successfully completed the Tronox Maintenance Training Curriculum, have a MX or above on most recent performance evaluation, and no active corrective action.

Properly troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair Commercial Refrigeration Equipment, Ice Machines and HVAC systems to include installation and repairing systems by mounting, installing, fabricating, or connecting compressors, condensers, evaporators, motors, expansion and discharge values, motors, temperature and fans, control panels, switches, fuses, filters, gauges, ducts, piping, tubing, and related components; completes power connections;
Work on commercial kitchen & cooking equipment such as: mixers, grilles/griddles, char-grills, ovens (deck and pizza), warming cabinets, holding cabinets, food wells, fryers, steamers, and pasta cookers;
Communicate with manufacturers as needed to help with diagnoses and parts identification;
Consult with the Operations Department for technical support while onsite and when follow up work needs to be scheduled;
Consult with the Parts Department to get parts ordered;
Install all parts ordered for the customer in a timely and professional manner and in line with company policy;
Promote and recommend other services available to customers when needed;
Produce accurate and timely administrative documents, such as work orders, time sheets, receipts, and truck stock inventory;
Follow safe work practices and accident prevention procedures;

Job Description Summary
