Hours: Monday - Friday, 7 AM - 3:30 PM with rotating on call off hour and weekend standby. Overtime as needs dictate.
Basic Function:
Performs construction and maintenance on Elizabethtown Gas Company distribution systems.

Qualifications

Maintenance Technician Primary Responsibilities :
Manufacturing floor support of existing manufacturing equipment and processes; troubleshoot, repair and/or resolve issues. Perform PM on equipment. With the direction of Quality, oversee the calibration process including scheduling and arranging for equipment to be calibrated as required. Reports to a Sr. Engineer or Manager to support manufacturing operations and divisional objectives.
Manufacturing Operations Support:
Perform preventative maintenance or arrange for maintenance (air compressor, larger equipment). Work with Operations to schedule maintenance if it requires equipment to be down.
Maintain the preventative maintenance database. Regular review and update of information in the current database.
Add new equipment as received (mold machine, chiller, dryer, press, robot, grinder). Work with Engineering to review manuals and extract maintenance information.
Escalate any adverse machine conditions noted during PM to Management
Generate spare parts list for each critical piece of equipment. Obtain pricing and lead time.
Issue a monthly report on PM performed to Management.
Be the initial point of contact regarding equipment troubleshooting and repair.
Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair equipment that is malfunctioning. Order parts required. Consult with engineers as necessary.
Communicate with equipment manufacturers or local service reps as necessary to resolve equipment problems.
Escalate any serious equipment conditions noted during the repair process to Management.
Communicate repairs made to equipment via individual emails to Management or monthly report.
Maintain logs for each piece of equipment to record repair and/or adjustment history.
Maintain the calibration database. Review and update.
Work with QA and operations to schedule equipment for calibration (i.e. Usons).
Maintain the Tooling and Fixture database. Review and update.
Inspect tools and fixtures and prioritize refurbishment and/or replacement. Arrange for this work to be completed in coordination with Operations.
Operate the Injection Mold machine(s):
Operate IM machine(s) to produce parts to a production plan provided by management and/or purchasing. Includes staging raw materials, monitoring operation, off-load filled bins, resolve issues. Notify Engineering as necessary if issues occur.
Remove and install, hook-up and set up molds for operation, under direct or indirect supervision of Engineering. Includes set up and operation of dryer, chiller, water heater and sprue picker as necessary.
Clean molds as necessary after use.
Update or create mold database. Specify PM required for each mold and create schedule. Perform PM or schedule molds for work at outside contractors.
Other general operations support:
Perform (as a backup) any filter assembly operations or operate any current equipment to meet production requirements as specified by Management when an operator is unavailable.
Work closely with the Manufacturing Engineer to optimize production operations and systems, implement new methods, equipment or fixturing. Assist with commissioning, documentation and training. Perform other tasks as instructed in this effort.
Make recommendations to improve equipment or operations.
Perform adjustments on equipment, perform testing, operate equipment for validation, etc., to assist engineers under their instruction.

Performs thorough and accurate Preventative Maintenance (PM) inspections.
Following schedules, completes all required PM maintenance operations including lubrication, fluid changes, brake adjustments, and tire rotation.
With direction from the Supervisor, performs unscheduled maintenance as needed.
Performs complex operations including engine, electrical, fuel, brake, and exhaust repairs and field tests. This requires interpreting and working from drawings, specifications and other technical materials.
Must be able to utilize a ladder and other elevation equipment to access the roof of buses and elevated light fixtures for repairs and maintenance.
Must operate CDL and Non-CDL vehicles (buses and vans) to perform road tests, as well as shuttle in an out of the garage for repairs and maintenance.
Perform DVIR repairs - daily based upon needs of fleet and work orders being submitted by drivers.
Assist with starting buses for AM/PM routes - (jumping off buses that won't start, putting ether into the system to start the bus, etc.) As needed
Able to stand long periods of time while performing medium and heavy duty motor work. (Ex: Performing a turbo replacement, etc.)
Sweep shop floor, wipe down equipment, tools, parts, work stations, mop spills and empty out oil reservoirs into main tank. Call vendor to have them come out and empty main tank to keep oil reservoirs empty and clean.
Conduct monthly inventory, based upon shop manager schedules, ordering parts using the computer system and restocking them in the tool crib.
Performs emergency roadside services as needed. Requires operation of either replacement vehicle or utility truck.
Emergency conditions may require calls at home, extended hours, or weekend work.
Document repairs and parts on work orders completely and accurately.
Maintains tools and work places so that workplace conditions are safe, neat and orderly.
Must be thoroughly familiar with all safety provisions associated with vehicle maintenance.
Full understanding of OSHA standards and provisions.
Understands and conforms to State EPA regulations regarding disposal of toxic waste substances.
Performs other duties as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in basic sign production tasks under Supervision.
Prepare materials for sign production, including cutting and organizing components.
Operate machinery and tools with guidance.
Weld, rivet, or bolt components together, primarily aluminum.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Follow safety protocols and quality control procedures.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
Must be mechanically inclined and able to use hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment.
Prefer current and unrestricted driver's license with a clean driving record.
Must have the ability to lift and maneuver heavy materials throughout the shop and adjacent outside areas.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; work with their hands handle, or feel, whether directly manipulating components or using controls on an assembly machine. Employee must be able to talk or hear over shop noise. Employee must be able to stand for extended periods of time at worktables. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move 50 to 75 pounds and move it for at least 50 feet. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
