About the Mobile Equipment Maintenance Mechanic role: The Mobile Equipment Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, repair of mobile and heavy equipment to ensure the safety of our operations. We are looking for someone who is attention to detail to perform preventative maintenance, is able to diagnose electrical and mechanical issues and is able to complete timely repairs for gas and diesel powered equipment. Work and/or Education experience for the Mobile Equipment Maintenance Mechanic: 3+ years of experience as a Mobile Equipment mechanic or a heavy equipment mechanic or equivalent. High school diploma or equivalent with additional certification. Strong knowledge of gas and/or diesel-powered equipment, along with hydraulic and electrical systems. Must be able to read service manuals and diagnostic codes and apply this to real-world. Able to use power tools, hand tools, and equipment. Has a valid Driver's License. Preferred: Technical, vocational training is diesel or heavy equipment mechanics. Equipment specific certifications. Experience in a manufacturing, construction, or industrial maintenance environment previously. Physical and Work Environment: Indoor but will require working outdoors or in a non-climate-controlled areas. Exposure to noise, dust, oils, along with moving equipment Ability to lift up to 50lbs, and ability to work equipment made specifically for heavier lifting. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods of time. Proper use of PPE is required at all times, along with complying with safety rules, and OSHA regulations. Participation in safety training and recertifications as required or as needed. This position will require overtime, on call or even weekend work in order to stay ahead for our operations team. The Mechanic is responsible to help maintain the equipment/ fleet and support repairs both at the warehouse and in the field at construction sites. The purpose of the position is to properly maintain and repair equipment in order to maximize its return on investment. This position will work to have all available equipment serviced and ready to be deployed into the construction field at time of need. The individual will also be available for any field service "breakdown" calls where expedited service is needed to support the construction projects and help them maintain their schedule. In this role you may be required to travel up to 40% of the time. Responsibilities: Inspect each piece of requested equipment for safe dependable operation prior to site delivery. Make necessary service or repair to ensure each machine is ready for safe operation. Responsibilities include: Assembling and disassembling electric motors, inspecting parts, measuring machined fits with calipers and micrometers, documenting inspection and test data on shop forms, balancing rotors, test run motors, paint motors. The diesel truck mechanic is responsible for maintaining the diesel equipment in the fleet while ensuring all safety requirements are met.
