Your Impact The focus of the maintenance team is to keep equipment in the RDC fully operational. The RDC Maintenance Mechanic I is a knowledgeable repair person with exposure to and experience with RDC systems and building components. Job Description With general direction from the Shop Supervisor, a Mechanic provides a wide range of technical services on company buses, vans, and automobiles. This is a journeyman position that requires significant technical training and/or experience. Also works under the direction of the Operations Manager. Duties/Responsibilities: Performs thorough and accurate Preventative Maintenance (PM) inspections. Following schedules, completes all required PM maintenance operations including lubrication, fluid changes, brake adjustments, and tire rotation. With direction from the Supervisor, performs unscheduled maintenance as needed. Performs complex operations including engine, electrical, fuel, brake, and exhaust repairs and field tests. This requires interpreting and working from drawings, specifications and other technical materials. Must be able to utilize a ladder and other elevation equipment to access the roof of buses and elevated light fixtures for repairs and maintenance. Must operate CDL and Non-CDL vehicles (buses and vans) to perform road tests, as well as shuttle in an out of the garage for repairs and maintenance. Responsible for the effective use of available manpower to accomplish task assignments requested by Hanger/Line Manager or MAC Maintenance Control to the highest level of reliability and safety in accordance with all applicable MAC, manufacturer and FAA policies, procedures, manuals and regulations. Assign and monitor individual task assignments to mechanic on daily basis. Provide technical assistance to mechanics and work on aircraft, as required. Ensure mechanics maintain current training status on tasks assigned. Perform Quality Control checks on work accomplished to ensure highest level of reliability and safety. Report to Hanger/Line Manager daily status of aircraft on station and man-hour utilization. Ensure all paperwork is complete and accurate on all aircraft and components in accordance with MAC. Adhere to Company policy and procedure. Maintain aircraft in accordance with legality, safety and reliability standards. Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned. Heavy physical effort required on occasion. Maintenance Manual Policies and Procedures. Continuous mental and visual attention required. QUALIFICATIONS: Airframe and Power Plant License. Extensive knowledge of all aircraft mechanical systems functions and interactions. Thorough working knowledge of all current FAA Regulations. Thorough working knowledge and use of MM, IPC, SRM and other manufacturers repair and troubleshooting documents. Thorough working knowledge of blueprints, work orders and task cards to determine type of configuration and special instructions prior to installation. Extensive knowledge of aircraft accessories, components and other hardware. Comprehensive knowledge of estimating hours and materials for completing projects. Complete knowledge of aircraft fasteners and applications. Complete knowledge of all related skill area machines, equipment and hand tools. Ability to operate aircraft systems. Ability to do engine "run-up" and "trim engines". High School diploma or equivalent. Must have a good command of the English language, both written and verbal. Must possess a valid driver license. Diesel Direct is currently seeking a full-time Diesel Truck Mechanic for our East Providence, RI location. Duties include working on fleet delivery vehicles and customers. Maintains diesel equipment operation by completing inspections and preventive maintenance requirements; correcting vehicle deficiencies; making adjustments and alignments; keeping records. Essential Duties: Inspecting, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and performing repairs and maintenance on equipment. Engine diagnostics a plus. Welds equipment as needed. Interpret work orders and technical manuals. Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems. Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that the work meets the manufacturer's specifications and legislated regulations. Able to work in a fast-paced work environment. Must possess the strength and stamina required to work with heavy equipment and work in awkward positions. The ability to work alone or as a team. The ability to keep up with changing technology and updates.
