High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Vocational or Technical Certification Post Secondary degree or Technical Certifications, preferred
Basic tools, required
Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including:
Routine preventative maintenance, which should include oil changes, brake and tire work
Basic diagnostics and repairs, including AC and electrical systems, required
Three (3) years or more relevant work experience, preferred
Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A,preferred
All other certification as required by location, required

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy duty and medium duty equipment
Knowledge of and the ability to apply knowledge of computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
This position requires for you to drive Ryder vehicles. In order to become a Ryder employee you must:
Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
Pass a Ryder Drug Test
Pass a DOT physical
Pass a Ryder road test
Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years

Responsibilities
Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties including:
Performs standard vehicle maintenance
Performs preventive maintenance
Diagnoses complex mechanical and electronic problems utilizing diagnostic computer when applicable
Completes complex and detailed mechanical inspections & repairs with minimal supervision
Replaces defective components as instructed
Works unsupervised on most tasks
Performs facility maintenance duties
Interacts with customers/drivers to properly determine nature of complaint once assigned a task.
Utilizes key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation available.
Works in accordance with all federal/ provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT, MOT).
Acts as mentor for Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels.
Demonstrate the ability to access and use internal and external maintenance documents.
Other support duties as required to support operations. These could include but are not limited to Service Island support
SBTIII trained within 180 days (SBT220)
Complete 2 of the OEM On-Line diagnostic scan tool software courses as required by location fleet mi. (predominant OEM of fleet mix completed within 365days)

Mechanical Assembler Responsibilities:
Read and interpret assembly blueprints or specifications manuals and plan assembly or building operations.
Inspect, operate, and test completed products to verify functioning, machine capabilities, or conformance to customer specifications.
Position or align components for assembly manually or using hoists.
Verify conformance of parts to stock lists or blueprints using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges, or micrometers.
Fasten or install piping, fixtures, wiring, and electrical components to form assemblies or subassemblies using hand tools, rivet guns, or welding equipment.
Remove rough spots and smooth surfaces to fit, trim, or clean parts using hand or power tools.
Layout, drill, ream, tap, or cut parts for assembly.
Rework, repair, or replace damaged parts or assemblies.
Assemble systems of gears by aligning and meshing gears in gearboxes.
Set up and operate metalworking machines, such as milling or grinding, to shape or fabricate parts.
Maintain and lubricate parts or components.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years experience assembling large machinery
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and mechanical ability
Ability to read blueprints and follow verbal instructions
Ability to read inspection equipment
Assembly techniques with focus on the following: Pneumatics, laser alignment, Bills of Material, CAD file reading, rigging, and other assembly-related tasks
Must be self-motivated team player and have a strong work ethic.
The ability to work independently
Must have some personal hand tools such as sockets and wrenches.
Willing to work overtime, including some Saturdays when requested.
Hoist, crane, and lift truck experience a plus
Pay Details: $41,600.00 to $52,000.00 per year
