The Lead Diesel Technician will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of our diesel technician team, ensuring the timely and efficient diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of diesel vehicles and equipment. Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and prioritize the workload of the diesel technician team, assigning tasks and ensuring that all work is completed in a timely manner.
Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to identify and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues in diesel vehicles and equipment.
Manage inventory levels of parts and supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels to support maintenance and repair activities while minimizing waste and excess inventory.
Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, and other components, adhering to manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
Coach and monitor members of the work team.
Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a diesel technician, with demonstrated proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines and related systems.
Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.

What You'll Do:

Your Impact The focus of the maintenance team is to keep equipment in the RDC fully operational. The RDC Maintenance Mechanic I is a knowledgeable repair person with exposure to and experience with RDC systems and building components. The Maintenance Mechanic I has specialist knowledge and complex repair capability in one of the following areas: conveyors, rolling stock, or building. PRIMARY FUNCTIONS This is skilled mechanical work of the journeyman level in the maintenance and repair of gasoline and diesel drives, heavy equipment, and construction equipment. MECHANIC B:
Must obtain CDL with air brake endorsement within one year of appointment.
Does general overhaul and repair work on light and heavy trucks, gasoline and diesel motors and other automotive and mechanical equipment; repairs and replaces shock absorbers, brakes and transmissions; adjusts clutches; checks and balances wheels for proper wheel alignment; repairs and installs hydraulic controls.
Tunes motors using standard testing equipment.

Maintain record of all repairs in a clear accurate manner.
