We are seeking a skilled MechanicalEngineer to provide support in the design and development of high-reliability mechanical systems. Responsibilities

We are currently seeking a Senior Plumbing Engineer to join us in one of our east offices, in New York, New Jersey, Boston, or DC to work on design plumbing and fire protection systems including domestic cold-water systems, domestic hot water systems, specialty water systems, sanitary drainage and vent systems, storm drainage systems, natural gas distribution systems, medical gas and/or laboratory gas systems, grease waste systems, acid waste and vent systems, other special plumbing systems, and fire suppression systems.
This role supports a broad range of building types, with opportunities to contribute to technically complex and mission-critical facilities.
**The Opportunity**
- Design plumbing and fire protection systems for buildings and structures across a variety of market sectors.
- Prepare drawings detailing system designs, including plumbing schedules, floor plans, enlarged plans, details, and riser diagrams.
- Prepare sketches and narratives for SD packages; develop Revit drawings for DD deliverables and construction documents.
- Perform system design calculations, code analysis, and maintain accurate design records.
- Select and specify equipment for use in building systems.
- Prepare written reports describing proposed systems and design alternatives.
- Develop project-specific specifications tailored to client and project needs.
- Coordinate work with engineers and designers across multiple disciplines.
- Attend meetings and communicate with clients to establish requirements and resolve design issues.
- Incorporate sustainable and resilient design strategies based on client and project needs.
- Support construction administration activities, including site visits, review of submittals and RFIs, troubleshooting construction issues, and preparation of site observation reports.
- Mentor junior plumbing engineers and designers.
- Coordinate with city officials and Fire Marshal offices as required for project delivery.
**Is This Role Right for You?**
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, architectural, civil, or environmental engineering.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in the design and specification of plumbing and fire protection systems.
- Familiarity with relevant codes and standards, including UPC, IPC, IBC, ASPE standards, LEED Water Efficiency, TDSHS, FGI, and NFPA.
- Experience designing a variety of building types, which may include offices, hotels, hospitals, laboratories, high-rise buildings, and other technically complex facilities.
- Proficiency in Revit for developing design drawings and 3D models of plumbing and piping systems preferred.
- Ability to deliver high-quality work within established schedules and budgets.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-based environment.
- Excellent planning, organization, and time-management skills in a fast-paced setting.
- Highly motivated, proactive, and willing to take on new challenges.
- Working knowledge of Bluebeam, Excel, Word, and Navisworks.
**Other / Preferred Qualifications**
- Experience supporting mission-critical or data center facilities, including familiarity with reliability, redundancy, resilience, and operational continuity considerations, is preferred.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred, or ASPE CPD (Certified in Plumbing Design) in the U.S.
- Strong foundation in plumbing engineering fundamentals.
- Certifications in Medical Gas Design.
- LEED AP or WELL accreditation.
