Essential Duties & Responsibilities
· Oversee operation, maintenance, and optimization of plant utility systems, including boilers, chillers, cooling towers, compressors, HVAC, water treatment, and distribution systems.
· Develop and update utility system SOPs, PM strategies, and asset care standards.
· Support troubleshooting of utility equipment failures and provide engineering guidance to technicians.
· Monitor system performance, efficiency, and compliance with regulatory and safety requirements.
· Provide technical support for new equipment installations, commissioning, and qualification.
· Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives in maintenance, operations, and reliability.
Spare Parts & Inventory Management
· Assist Site Manager with identify, catalog, and manage critical spare parts for all utility systems and high-impact production equipment.
· Assist Maintenance manager with maintaining an optimized parts inventory by balancing availability, lead times, and cost.
· Work closely with purchasing to qualify vendors, secure pricing, and manage long-lead or OEM-specific parts.
· Assist the site planner with developing and maintaining a structured Bill of Materials (BOM) library in the CMMS.
· Assist maintenance manager with inventory accuracy initiatives and storeroom organization (5S).
Root Cause Analysis (RCA) & Reliability Improvement
· Lead and facilitate RCAs for major equipment failures, chronic issues, utility outages, or safety/environmental incidents.
· Use structured RCA tools (5-Whys, Fishbone, FMEA, Fault-Tree, etc.).
· Develop corrective actions, reliability improvements, and long-term engineering solutions.
· Track and report failure trends, MTBF/MTTR, and key reliability KPIs.
· Partner with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions and verify effectiveness.
Safety & Compliance
· Ensure all utility systems and maintenance activities comply with OSHA, EPA, and local regulatory requirements.
· Support risk assessments, LOTO standards, and engineering safety reviews.
· Promote a culture of safe work practices and reliability excellence. Assist with permits
Qualifications

This position requires an entry level designer/drafter to apply technical skills for moderate complexity interdisciplinary tasks. You will be responsible for producing tooling and related flight hardware within an integrated product team
It is expected you will work autonomously with moderate oversight and be accountable for both space flight and non-space flight development program milestone deliverables
Basic Qualifications:
Enrollment in Henry Abbot Technical School in the Mechanical Design and Engineering Technology program
Create part models, assembly layouts, detailed drawings, and bills of materials using CREO for solid modeling and PDMLink for data management
Execute engineering design changes for part and assembly drawings
Interact and coordinate with all engineering disciplines to deliver comprehensive design, engineering, and specification packages

The Project Engineer will apply engineering techniques and provide engineering services in the design, specification, construction and start-up of new and improved production process, equipment, buildings and support systems. This role will be responsible for recommending manufacturing equipment and processes designed to be efficient, cost-effective, and to promote safety, quality and reliability.
The Project Engineer will assess current equipment and processes and make recommendations for changes. This role will also be expected to troubleshoot and repair equipment, show results in reports and train personnel in equipment usage and processes. This role is an individual contributor and will be expected to work independently with a high degree of latitude.
1. Capital Project Design (40%):
Develop and administer the capital plan defining project initiatives based upon business/operational needs or opportunities.
Lead the scope, cost and schedule development of capital projects and prepare justifications for expenditures with cost benefit analysis.
Lead in preparing layout designs and equipment and facility specifications to meet the requirements of the process or desired improvement.
Design, evaluate and select equipment and exchange information with vendors, suppliers and contractors to ensure accurate specifications, quotes and delivery schedules.
Capital Project Management (40%):
Create and maintain timelines on projects to assure they are completed on schedule. Ensures the accurate and timely management of change to scope, schedule and cost for assigned projects. Ensures assigned project meet agreed to scope on schedule and within budget.
Ensure all LATICRETE processes, equipment, buildings and facilities support systems are in compliance with or exceed all applicable Federal, State and local environmental, safety & health and OSHA regulations and building/construction codes and reporting requirements.
Coordinate and direct installation of equipment and services with equipment suppliers, service contractors, operations and maintenance personnel.
Support start-up of manufacturing processes and equipment including transitioning of responsibilities to Operations after project scope has been met.
Ensure the accurate and timely processing of purchase orders, invoices, cost and expenditure accounting and tracking data and other financial records for Project Engineering activities.
Ongoing Operational Support (20%):
Develop work instructions and provide for the documented training of operators and maintenance personnel on all new and improved equipment and support systems implemented and assist in the design of preventive and corrective maintenance programs and spare parts inventories.
Identify, develop and implement process improvement initiatives that reduce waste and non-value added activities.
Manages Effectiveness (OEE); production efficiencies, yields and rates. Handles the most complex issues and problems and refers only the most difficult and complex issues to higher-level staff.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering; Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical or Civil preferred
5+ years' experience in a process manufacturing environment
