Title: Lab Technician II Duration: 11+ Months The Laboratory Support Staff works to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment and has the temperament to operate proactively and collaboratively in a team in support of research and development activities. Following a training period, tasks will include inventorying and maintaining stocks of project-specific laboratory supplies, laboratory maintenance (equipment maintenance, cleaning, trash removal), and following instructions in the execution of molecular and microbiological experiments and procedures (e.g., nucleic acid extraction, serial dilution of microbiological culture and nucleic acids, polymerase chain reaction (PCR) etc.) and maintaining experimental records in electronic laboratory notebooks. JOB DESCRIPTION: While working closely with a Team Lead and/or under the supervision of the Laboratory Manager, you will be responsible for the following primary duties and responsibilities: Complete sample preparation and testing in a timely manner, according to approved SOP's and correct techniques. Classify and label samples, according to established protocol. Clean and sterilize laboratory workspace and equipment. Provide support for lab-specific waste management. Maintain proper laboratory records. Maintain laboratory cleanliness at all times. Accountable and responsible for proper laboratory practices. Compliance with ARL standards and policies Perform all duties and projects, as assigned by ARL leadership Comply with ALL ARL workplace policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations. Adhere to all GLP, GMP, and ISO regulations as they pertain to the position's functions and duties. Successfully complete all training, including skills and proficiency testing, within required timeframe. Complete special project as assigned. JOB REQUIREMENTS AND EXPECTATIONS: Able to converse fluently in English, verbally and in writing. Be able to lift at least 50lbs. Able to work within a schedule that allows for testing to be completed and reported on time. Available to work 5 days a week, if required. Available to work weekends.
