Responsibilities
Obtain, compile and record patient medical data, including health history, progress notes and results of physical examination

Issue appropriate prescriptions and administer medicine
Monitor patients? progress and keep records of treatments, surgeries or other medical events

Instruct and counsel patients about prescribed regimen.

Position Summary

Standard Job Duties:
* The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and support within our multispecialty practice
* Act as a member of the care team, including preparing patients to be seen by collecting and recording clinical information as per process, responding to patient phone calls and documenting patient interactions
* Manage patients according to approved protocols and consistent with appointment and scheduling guidelines
* Document all patient interactions and other clinical activities accurately and timely in the electronic health record
* Schedule tests, treatments and follow up visits on behalf of patients, assist patients with identifying suitable outside resources and other services where appropriate
* Monitor task list (telephone encounters) in order to respond in a timely manner, follow up on overdue orders and monitor status of critical referrals
* Adhere to all patient safety standards and infection control guidelines
* Assist care team to assure smooth office operation and delivery of excellent service through teamwork.

We are looking for a Full-Time Medical Assistant / Receptionist with at least 1 year of medical office experience. The job will primarily be as a Medical Assistant but can cover the Receptionist position when needed. The office hours are Monday & Thursday 8-6, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday 8-5 and alternating Saturdays 8-1 so the schedule will fall within these times.
Candidate must be reliable, personable and computer literate. Must be able to multitask and have strong communication skills. Bilingual English / Spanish is a plus.
Education / Certification Requirements:
Minimum High School Diploma.
Must have a Medical Assistant Certification as well as phlebotomy & EKG certification.
Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Medical Assistant:
Taking patient vitals
Entering patient vitals and other information into the EMR
Scanning patient related documents into the EMR
Perform phlebotomy, spirometry, EKG, ABI, etc.
Obtaining prior authorizations for procedures and medications
Communicate with the physician and patient regarding messages, labs, etc
Returning messages to patients as per the physicians instructions
Receptionist:
Answering phones
Collecting copayments/co-insurance
Generating electronic referrals
Verify insurance coverage
Patient Scheduling
