Summary:
The registered pharmacy technician I works under the direct supervision of licensed pharmacists to provide distributive pharmacy services and support to the pharmacy department. Additionally, provides a high level of assistance in distribution, dispensing, and compounding of non-sterile medications, and related supplies in compliance with accreditation, legal, regulatory, and safety requirements.
This position may be eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $5K, contingent upon the applicant's qualifications and subject to certain eligibility requirements. Please note, that candidates must possess prior inpatient work experience to qualify for the sign-on bonus
Responsibilities:
Process medication charges/credits when applicable.Performs prescription data entry in pharmacy system when applicable.Prepares non-sterile compounded medications, including hazardous medications and cross trains in more advance functions when deem appropriate Assists with customer service and patient needs, including answering telephones, managing work queues and completing medication histories.Completes other responsibilities as assigned in support of pharmacy operations and within the pharmacy technician scope of practice.Prepares, fills, receives, delivers, stocks and restocks medication inventory and supplies for the pharmacy department and drug storage areas. Repackages bulk medications.Responsible for assiting with orientation and training of new pharmacy technicians and students students.Maintains and supports medication distribution systems and distribution channels, including automated dispensing cabinets, code carts, trays and kits.

Facility: BayCare HomeCare * Location: Largo, FL * Status: Full time, hourly * Shifts: Varies * 7:00AM - 4:00PM * 8:00AM - 5:00PM * 9:00AM - 6:00PM * 10:00AM - 7:00PM * Weekend: On-call Rotation(s) - (1 week approximately every 4-6 weeks) * On Call: On-Call Rotation(s) Pharmacy Technician, under the immediate oversight of the Pharmacist, responsibilities include: * Perform sterile compounding and ensures compliance with all FDA, DEA, Florida Board of Pharmacy, OSHA and other regulatory and accrediting entities. Follows all company and department policies and procedures. * Participates in medication management for pharmacy compounding, including medication, supplies, ordering, receiving and equipment maintenance. * Responsible for completing and documenting all cleaning and monitoring activities identified for areas related to sterile compounding including daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning requirements. * Maintains ongoing didactic and practical training related to sterile compounding provided by the organization * Support the mission of the hospital and pharmacy department * Efficient, accurate and timely preparation, compounding, labeling, and delivering of pharmaceuticals to assure patient satisfaction * Duties may also include, but not limited to, - special assignments/projects, process validation and competency assessment Required Qualifications: * High School Graduate or Equivalent GED * Required FL Registered Pharmacy Technician License * Pharmacy Technician license in good standing in the state of Florida * +1 year of Pharmacy Technician experience Preferred Qualifications: * Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) * Certified Compounded Sterile Preparation Technician (CSPT) * Sterile Compounding experience USP BayCare is all about making the most of your life and loving your career. Summary:
