Our BehaviorSpecialist will be successful by completing assignments, developing strategies, writing personalized Behavior Support Plans for individuals with basic to complex behavior, under appropriate clinical supervision.
Other responsibilities include:
Responsible for efficient and appropriate development, facilitation, documentation and revision of Behavior Support Plans, according to the person's Individual Support Plan and per Merakey policy
Completes observations in various settings and conducts comprehensive Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) of presenting issues from aggression, self-injurious behavior, adverse mental health symptoms, law offending behavior- sexual or other identified presenting issues
Collaborate with the person, their family and team in the development and maintenance of a behavior support plan.
Trains and mentors, the people support team on how to implement plans.
Completes documentation including but not limited to data collection, progress reporting, development and revision of the Behavior Support Plan (BSP)
Provides timely documentation, per policy, including but not limited to data collection, progress reporting, development and revision of the BSP.

A Family Enrichment Center (FEC) is a family-centered, place-based primary prevention approach, where all members of the community have access to and may benefit from both structured or spontaneous activities and events (called “offerings”) that strengthen family protective factors to increase child and family well‑being and promote stability. FEC offerings are available to everyone, regardless of current or past child welfare involvement.
The goal of the Family Enrichment Center (FEC) is to enhance child and family well‑being by providing access and support to enable the strengthening of family protective factors inherent in its residents and community by building mutual community connections, capacity, and resilience.
In partnership with FEC staff, families will drive the planning, development, and sustainable co‑ownership of the centers. Families who participate in the FEC programming will be encouraged to share their expertise by volunteering at the center and given meaningful opportunities to engage with neighbors and peers. The goal of the FEC is to strengthen families' protective factors and build community connections, capacity, and resilience.
Position Summary
The Family Advocate is responsible for contributing to the day‑to‑day operation of the FEC including building connections with other staff, residents, and community partners; co‑designing and delivering relevant programming and activities (offerings); providing advocacy and making referrals for participants; and creating a warm and inviting gathering place for families and individuals using the protective factors model to support community resilience.
Responsibilities
Coordinate meetings, provide support, and collaborate with a team of local parents, subject experts, and other residents to deliver monthly events and activities (offerings) held at the FEC.

Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree and three (3) years of professional experience; or a high school diploma and five (5) years of professional experience in community-driven programs working directly with children, youth, and families.
Reside in or near the FEC community, or reside close enough to arrive promptly, in the event of an emergency.
Bi‑Lingual either /Mandarin &/or Cantonese is required.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to warmly connect with and engage children, youth, and adults individually and in groups.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The main responsibility of the Child Development Specialist is to provide exceptional, high-quality care and education to children in the Exploration Center. Wings of the Harbor a program of Comprehensive Youth Services, Inc., is a transitional living program for young adults 16-21 years old. It is an 18 month program that assists young people in learning the life skills needed to be self sufficient. We are currently looking for a team member to assist with shift coverage as a float person. The program is open 24/7 365 days a year. Shifts are typically 8am-4pm, 4pm-12am, and 12am-8am. This is a part time position with up to 60 hours in a two week period. Schedules are posted in advance in regards to what shifts need to be covered.
Job Duties Include:
Assist in the implementation of the TLP in accordance with licensing standards utilizing the Ansell-Casey Transitional Living Assessment, Curriculum and Guidebook.
Maintain policies and procedures governing the TLP.
Participate in the training program, staff meeting and supervision of the TLP.
Assist in the implementation of the TLP including coordination with community agencies and resources.
Assist in meeting contract and licensing requirements and completing required paperwork.
Remain awake during the entire shift, completing all required cleaning, inventory, resident monitoring, bed checks and preparation of life skills packets. Assist in observing all health, fire and regulations and answer crisis calls.
Assist residents with planning personal schedules and leisure time, teaching daily living skills and providing transportation when necessary.
Assure participants medical and safety needs are met.
Help facilitate house meetings and the weekly forum.
Additional duties assigned by the TLP supervisor as needed

POSITION SUMMARY:
The main responsibility of the Child Development Specialist is to provide exceptional, high-quality care and education to children in the Exploration Center. This role is accountable for ensuring the overall well-being of the children in the center and is committed to supporting the growth and development of each child.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Deliver high-quality early care and education to young children by planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities across social-emotional, physical, language, cognitive, literacy, mathematics, science and technology, social studies, and the arts domains.
Provide a safe and healthy environment.
Maintain compliance with all Child Care Regulations (CCR), National Association of the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), and Texas Rising Star (TRS) Standards.
Oversee and demonstrate appropriate practices.
Observe and record children's developmental milestones, create portfolios for each child, and maintain both formal and informal assessment records.
Provide optimal coordination of home and Center in terms of research-based teaching and parenting; schedule and conduct parent/teacher conferences.
Complete departmental forms such as attendance records, anecdotal records, accident reports, health and safety checks, lesson plans, etc.
Fulfill mandatory training requirements, including Pediatric First Aid/CPR, Child Abuse Training, Pres-Service Training, and Annual Training, with a minimum of 30 hours each year.
Convey information in a positive and professional manner, adhering to NAEYC Professional Code of Ethical Conduct.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain a clean and safe physical environment for children (cleaning, sanitizing, and organizing areas).
Ensures there are ample materials to allow children to make choices and explore a variety of interests.
Assist parents with stages of development.
Communicate the center policy to staff and parents.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Child Development Associate (CDA) or one-year certificate in Early Childhood Education or Child Care Administrator Certificate; or twelve higher education credits from an accredited institution in early childhood education child development, elementary education, and/or early childhood special education.
Accredited, in-person Pediatric CPR/First Aid certification (must be obtained within 30 days of hire).
Two years of experience working with infants, toddlers, and/or preschoolers in a regulated child-care center/educational facility serving children from birth through kindergarten.
Must be able to understand work instructions in English.
Must have a working knowledge of computer programs and accessing internet applications such as Microsoft Products, Google Applications (Gmail), Excel, Microsoft Word, and Internet Explorer.

Some examples include working with typically developing children in a group setting (children with demonstrated deficits or challenging behavior preferred), having a family member with ASD, a neighbor with a developmental disability, or even volunteer work in a classroom with a child with ASD, etc.
EDUCATION:
Degree not required, but must have at least completed some college coursework or be currently enrolled at an accredited college or university. We have a preference to programs related to early childhood education, psychology, nursing or related field.

Responsibilities
What we are looking for:
People with a passion for working with children
Previous experience working with children or people with disabilities and an interest in behavioral health
Available to work in the afternoons/early evenings, and possible weekend morning hours
Must have own reliable transportation, and valid driver's license, auto registration and auto insurance
Proof of immunization records and TB
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
Must be available for initial 2 week training schedule (M-F, about 35 hours)
The position requires lifting, carrying, and loading/unloading toys and materials for home visits. Also frequent walking, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, and twisting in order to observe, assess, and interact with participants
Work hours: Our main working hours are Monday thru Friday 3PM-8PM & Saturday 9AM-1PM. Candidates must be available to work at least 15 hours per week within this timeframe.
