Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma, G.E.D. and enrolled in an approved or accredited nursing program. Prior to employment, the nurse tech shall provide student transcripts indicating they have completed Fundamentals of Nursing from an accredited school of nursing and provide competency skills list from their learning institution. The nurse tech must remain in good standing with their school of nursing while in this role. This program is for nursing students only, if a student leaves a program for any reason, they can no longer be a nurse tech.
Certification(s): BLS Required within one month of hire.
Physical Requirements:
- Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
- Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience: EMT, Paramedic or Previous Patient Care Experience

• Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; completing diagnostic coding and procedure coding; and keeping patient information confidential.
• Schedules appointments; verifying times with patients; and preparing charts.
• Respond to verbal and electronic requests for information and assistance using proper policies, reference tools and provider instructions.
• Process prescription refills, and direct/instruct people we support and/or family members regarding prescription and treatment instructions according to the provider guidelines and orders.
• Perform Medication injections to people we support as ordered in the electronic record by the medical provider and follow specific nursing protocols for each specific injection.
• Perform urine drug screen testing for people we support when ordered in the electronic health record as ordered by the medical provider and follow specific nursing protocols for completion of each urine drug screen.
• Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
• Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs.
• Serves and protects the practice by adhering to professional standards; facility policies and procedures; and federal, state, and local requirements.
• Enhances practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
• Maintain trainings as required and requested.
• Demonstrate knowledge of emergency procedures and assist in crisis situations.
• Demonstrate knowledge of and comply with all agency policies and procedures.
• Complete all other relevant responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
• Driving and travel may be required.
