The Institute for Digestive Health and Liver Disease (IDHLD) is seeking a skilled and motivated PhysicianAssistant to join its Inpatient Gastroenterology service. The program encompasses all areas of gastroenterology, including General GI, Hepatology, IBD, Motility, Pancreas, and Therapeutic Endoscopy, offering a broad and diverse clinical experience. In this collaborative role, the PhysicianAssistant works closely with attending physicians, endoscopy teams, and a multidisciplinary GI staff to provide high-quality inpatient care. The position is structured for an eventual transition to outpatient gastroenterology, where the PhysicianAssistant will have the opportunity to run independent clinics while continuing to work with a collaborating physician. This is a unique opportunity to gain extensive exposure to inpatient GI, providing a strong foundation that will serve exceptionally well in an eventual outpatient role.
Provide comprehensive care to inpatient GI patients, including assessment, management, and follow-up
Collaborate with attending physicians to evaluate and manage urgent cases, including coordinating with endoscopy services

Under the direction of two Supervising Physicians, conduct patient assessments, order or directly provide treatments, and provide patient education and support.
Promotes and maintains patient health by providing medical services under the supervision of the Supervising Physicians.
Assess patient health by interviewing patients; performs comprehensive physical examination; compiles patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination.
Work under protocol to develop an effective, safe and patient-centered treatment plan.
Provide timely and complete clinical documentation in the EHR following patient visits or telephone calls.
Maintain ongoing communication with the supervising physicians regarding assigned patients and provide timely notification of changes in patient status.
Attend case conferences, clinical rounds, and other types of meetings which address patient management and care coordination as required.
Maintain ongoing communication with other members of the entire care team through written documentation, telephone or in-person conversation.
Partner with the patient to develop contracts of care as needed and provide encouragement and motivational support to promote adherence to treatment plans.
Ensure timely access of patient appointments.
Perform other duties as determined collaboratively by the Supervising Physicians that are within the scope of practice of a physicianassistant and the health care institution's policies.
May provide coverage to other providers within the group whose PA or NP is away from the office.
Hospital coverage will be at Cedars-Sinai Providence Tarzana Hospital, and our Surgery Center of the Pacific outpatient surgical center in Santa Monica.
Will be on staff at one of our Ambulatory Surgery Centers.
** Clinic hours will vary depending on assignment between 7am to 6pm, Monday through Friday in our Tarzana Outpatient Clinic Mondays (afternoons), Wednesdays (mornings) and Fridays (afternoons).

Responsibilities:
Provide direct patient care in the CVSICU/SICU, including assessment, diagnosis, and management of postoperative cardiovascular patients.
Perform invasive procedures, including but not limited to central line placement, arterial line placement, chest tube removal and pacer wire removal.
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to assess, diagnose, and manage critically ill patients in the CVSICU.
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans, and evaluate patient responses to interventions.
Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding their condition, treatment options, and discharge planning.

What You?ll Do:
As a Certified NP or PA-C, you will be a key clinical provider in a skilled nursing facility, diagnosing, treating, and guiding patients to better health. No two days are the same!
Your daily responsibilities include:
Performing physical exams and reviewing medical histories.

Required Qualifications
