Job Summary: Cornerstone Systems is seeking a dedicated on-site Transportation Representative for our office located in Canfield, OH. The Surface Transportation Representative will report to the Branch Manager and will be responsible for all operational support, as well as sales initiatives and accounting tasks. The Transportation Representative will be accountable for helping build and maintain carrier and customer relationships, as well as ensuring the day to day execution of operations. The below is intended to describe the general content of and requirements for the performance of this job and is not to be construed as an exhaustive statement of essential functions, responsibilities or requirements. Responsibilities: Follow up on load statuses and assure deliveries are made. Evaluate and provide shipping instructions to the service provider. Review documents submitted by carriers to assure accuracy, detail, and completeness. Release load for billing when the load has been delivered and all information is accurate. Manage, service, and grow current customer/carrier relationships. Ensure compliance with all SOPs and daily adherence to requirements. Source carrier capacity as needed to cover customer freight. Understand market trends and seasonality of capacity. Develop carrier relationships and contacts at multiple levels (dispatch, sales, and owner). Understand the customer's shipping needs; identify service and/or cost improvement opportunities, and execute their highest priority initiatives. Negotiate rates, find pain points and provide solutions to help the customer benefit from their supply chain. Convert new carrier relationships into repeat business. Prospect new sales opportunities, establish customer and carrier relationships, negotiate rates, problem solve and close loads to build personal book of business. Prospect customers, source carriers, negotiate rates, problem solve, and manage problems. Document and manage problematic events and issues during the life of a load. Escalate issues to the proper people at the right time. Seek input to determine best course of action and implement solutions. When needed, must be willing to input shipment data in TMS and manage shipment from pickup to delivery. Create new solutions to existing partnerships by further developing customer and carrier relationships; always ask questions, listen, never be satisfied. We are looking for a full-time experienced Customer Service Representative for our expanding Customer Service Department. If you are dynamic and motivated, read on! This is a non-exempt position and eligible for Overtime. The wage will competitive based on experience. Customer Service Representative A person in this role will enter orders and interface with customers with guidance from the Inside Sales Manager. This person will follow up and offer support to answer questions and/or concerns and work closely with sales to effectively streamline the process and support the customer through the close of the order and beyond. The schedule is generally a Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm schedule, but there are times when OT will be required based on business need. Requirements to be successful as a Customer Service Representative: 2 years' experience in a business-to-business Customer Service experience is required Telephone sales/customer service experience is required. Ability to enter data efficiently and correctly and quickly Knowledge of MS Word, Excel is a must Personal motivation and drive to achieve short- and long-term business and career goals/objectives Strong problem-solving skills Effective relationship building skills required Ability to effectively communicate, build rapport and relate well to a diverse group of customers (primarily over the phone) Ability to work on multiple projects at one time Ability to support both internal and external customers pleasantly and efficiently Manufacturing experience is a plus and we will train on specifics of aluminum extrusions Order entry/data entry experience us required.     Job Description 1. Reviews and evaluates requests and direction received from customers, Senior Tech, salesmen and brokers for printability and family consistency. Determines appropriate course of action to take on new artwork, modifications to existing items and repeat orders. 2. Generates quotes to include pricing and timelines, production orders and other necessary documentation for incoming jobs. Performs informal inspection of incoming files. 3. Initiates the preflight of incoming graphics media as well as coordinates the Print Assessment meeting with the required parties. 4. Interfaces with Graphic Customer Service Manager, the Senior Tech, Scheduler and other department managers to ensure all in-house projects stay on schedule. Communicates graphic changes, both color and art element placement, using the work ticket, offering a summary of instructions for each of the departments required to make said changes. 5. Communicates directly with customers, sales personnel and account specialists regarding specific requirements. 6. Re-estimates proofs returned with revisions and updates job cost estimating system. 7. Organizes and keeps track of copies, facsimiles, electronic data and shipments within each project. Ships proofs out to sales force and/or customers as required. 8. Pursues and stays current on graphics technologies, concepts of press approvals and process printing technologies. 9. Initiates Obsolescence and Modification forms when appropriate and creates purchase orders for materials as needed. 10. Review all jobs before closing to verify proper estimates and billing procedures are in place. 11. Responsible for the quality of work, both information and materials. 12. Limited travel to customers, printers/converters, seminars and other companies as required. 13. All other duties as assigned • 3-5 years of experience in flexible packaging/prepress/printing. • Ability to accurately understand/interpret layout specifications and graphics needs. • Computer skills to include the ability to operate Apple computers, MS Office, Acrobat, SAP, Microsoft Outlook and the Internet to access pertinent information. • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively (oral and written) with internal and external customers. • Ability to prioritize incoming work and meet multiple deadlines.
