Job Responsibilities: · Assisting Pediatric Dentists: Provide chairside assistance to pediatric dentists during exams, treatments, and procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow. · Patient Preparation: Prepare treatment areas, sterilize and set up necessary instruments and equipment. Ensure patient comfort by explaining procedures and addressing any concerns. · Radiographs: Take dental X-rays while following safety protocols for pediatric patients. Ensure the accurate positioning and technique for high-quality images. · Sterilization & Infection Control: Maintain high standards of sterilization and infection control protocols, ensuring that all dental instruments and equipment are properly sanitized and safe for use. · Expanded Functions: Utilize your expanded functions as permitted by Minnesota state law, including taking impressions, placing dental sealants, performing coronal polishing, and applying fluoride treatments. · Patient Education: Educate children and their parents on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions. Provide guidance on nutrition and the importance of regular dental visits. · Managing Patient Flow: Ensure that the patient flow remains efficient by managing appointment schedules, assisting with patient transitions between procedures, and keeping wait times minimal. · Documentation & Recordkeeping: Accurately record patient information, including medical history, treatment plans, and progress notes in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
